WARNING: The following contains spoilers for X-Corp #2 by Tini Howard, Alberto Foche, Sunny Gho & VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

X-Corp is set to be a major force for Krakoa in the near future, with the company bringing big business to Krakoa. However, as they establish themselves in the world, they need to expand their board of directors to include some more notable faces.

During the Hellfire Gala, Angel and Penenance turn out to have been meeting with some of the major candidates for the position, and have even give one of the contenders a major position within the company.

SUNSPOT

Sunspot is one of the original New Mutants, having grown to become one of the most fiscally powerful mutants in the universe. Since the formation of Krakoa, he's been earning more riches while living in Shi'Ar space, finding a way to improve relations between Krakoa and that intergalactic empire. It also turns out that Sunspot is one of the chief investors in X-Corp and has granted them a lot of the resources they've been using. Sunspot wants a board spot to reflect his contributions -- promising to provide even more resources for the group. But it remains to be seen if that will earn him more power in the company.

SELENE

Selene X-Men X-corp Hellfire Gala

Selene is one of the Externals, a nigh-immortal figure who has been alive for thousands of years. She's spent much of that time as an established enemy of the X-Men and their allies, but has seemingly made peace with them when she came to Krakoa -- although her off-island activities have been monstrous in their own right. She presents herself as an authoritative voice to add to the board -- someone with ideas that Monet finds interesting. However, Angel seems more uncomfortable with the prospect, making it less likely for her to earn a position within the company leadership.

BISHOP

X-Men Marauders Bishop 1

The time-displaced mutant Bishop has been a longstanding ally to the X-Men, and he's taken a number of important roles on Krakoa. He's been a member of the Marauders and is one of the Great Captains of Krakoa -- making him one of the chief military leaders of the mutant nation. He's already been stretched fairly thin as a result, and it's understandable that when X-Corp approached him about potentially joining the Board of Directors he politely refused. He did, however, have a candidate in mind to replace him.

THUNDERBIRD

X-Corp X-Men Thunderbird

Neal Shaara -- aka Thunderbird -- was a prominent member of the X-Treme X-Men. While he's been a rather underutilized figure in the world of mutants, Thunderbird has been a consistent ally to the X-Men over the years -- earning him recommendations from both Bishop and Sunspot. Thanks to his energy manipulation abilities, he's needed for an undisclosed plan by the company. In exchange, Thunderbird wants representation on a corporate level. It turns out he's even been assisting X-Corp already -- meaning even if he doesn't end up on the board, it's likely the group will continue to utilize his abilities.

RISQUE

Gloria Muñoz was a member of X-Force who was capable of creating localized gravity fields, allowing her to compress objects into smaller objects without losing their density. She was killed years ago and is among the many mutants resurrected on Krakoa -- becoming a member of the S.W.O.R.D.'s Six and providing a major new step forward for mutant capabilities. It appears that Monet and Angel considered her a possible candidate for leadership at X-Corp, but Wind Dancer's report suggests that Risque had little interest in joining the organization, and didn't respond to their outreach.

SARA ST. JOHN

X-Corp X-Men St. Scott Hellfire Gala

Sara St. John stands out from the rest of the potential contenders for business with X-Corp, as she's the only human currently being considered for a position there. A genius inventor who Angel and Monet both have their concerns about, Sara is at the Hellfire Gala as a guest when she has a meeting scheduled with the pair. However, her willingness to do business with the Fenris Twins sours the X-Corp heads on St. John, who instead seems content to work with the disgraced Upstarts.

MASTERMIND

X-Men X-Corp Mastermind 3

Mastermind is a former X-Men villain and a master illusionist whose ability to control the perceptions of others has made them a serious threat in the past. However, since being resurrected on Krakoa, Mastermind has been largely moving behind the scenes -- working with Mister Sinister and even briefly defeating the Hellions as part of a mission to give Sinister his own private cloning lab. Ultimately, Mastermind actually impresses the pair throughout X-Corp #2 and earns one of the positions.
