WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Wolverine #4 by Benjamin Percy, Viktor Bogdanovic, Matthew Wilson, & VC's Cory Petit, on sale now.

Wolverine's garnered numerous villains over the years, with his murderous tactics and brutal methods getting plenty of mutants and humans enraged with him. But many of them have put aside their differences with Logan since coming to Krakoa, with most mutants deciding to ally themselves with the X-Men. But now, one of Wolverine's most dangerous foes has set up a major attack on Logan.

After returning and seeking refuge on Krakoa in Wolverine #1, Omega Red openly turns against Logan in Wolverine #4, and he's got an entire army of vampires behind him.

Arkady Rossovich was a murderous member of the Russian Army who eventually discovered his mutant-abilities when he survived an execution. Eventually taken into the Soviet Super-Soldier Program, Rossovich was transformed into Omega Red. However, to maintain his body's new form, he was made dependant on a Carbondadium Synthesizer. Omega Red became a fearsome threat over the years, becoming one of Wolverine's most consistent enemies. After the events of Age of X-Man (where Omega Red was turned into one of Nate Grey's disciples), Omega Red found himself working with Dracula and his newly formed Vampire Nation currently residing in Russia.

In exchange for the Carbonadium Synthesizer, Dracula forced Omega Red to lure Wolverine into a trap to steal some of his regenerative blood. This blood infusion gave a weakened Dracula the capability to survive in the sunlight, giving him a major power boost. Omega Red has been otherwise accepted by Krakoa as almost all mutants have, but he remains a secret servant of the Vampire Nation after discovering that Dracula has poisoned the Carbonadium Synthesizer. While Omega Red has been reluctant to overtly attack Logan so far, Wolverine's travels to the far Canadian North to find some space are the perfect opportunity for Omega Red to target his old rival. While getting some space away from Krakoa, Wolverine uses his secret Krakoa Gate to visit a small bar called the Red Tavern in remote Canada.

When Omega Red arrives in the far north, he finds Wolverine being taken captive by a group of anti-mutant activists. Intending to drop Logan into the frozen nearby lake and let him freeze as punishment for his crimes over the years, the humans are able to move Wolverine into the water before Omega Red slaughtered the lot of them with his Carbondanium tentacles. It's also notable that Omega Red also chose to attack Logan with more than just his own formidable powers. With an entire army of vampiric forces at his back, they quickly surrounding the pair and advance on Wolverine as Omega Red forces Wolverine deeper into the frozen waters below. It's a good thing the X-Men have perfected the ability to resurrect mutants because there's a very solid chance Wolverine won't make it out of this battle.

It's possible that Omega Red might be looking to claim more blood from Wolverine for Dracula - which could potentially allow Dracula the ability to make all of the vampires in his command impervious to the sunlight's damaging power. Even if it was just Omega Red attacking Wolverine, the Russian villain has often proven capable enough of keeping up with Wolverine in a fight. But with the vampire army at his back and the advantage of Wolverine already being tied up and left to die within the icy waters of the far north, Omega Red could find an easy way to bring a lot of pain to Wolverine and even take more of his blood to Dracula.
