Fox’s upcoming X-Men television pilot -- tentatively titled "Gifted" -- is proceeding apace, with recent casting announcements for Emma Dumont as Polaris and Jamie Chung as Blink as well as Blair Redford, who appears set to play Thunderbird. Now it seems the Dallas, Texas-based production is looking for some background characters to flesh out the crowd scenes.

Specifically, Legacy Casting has put out the call for a number of extras, including "sentinel service techs," "14-17 year-old high school students at dance," "seedy types at bar" and "barfly woman (5ft 6in, 115lb)." The students will likely feature in the protagonists' ordinary life, before they discover that their children are mutants.

More intriguingly, it seems the show is also looking for "actor photo doubles" for the "run of show," though it is unclear which actors the agency is looking to double.

Created by Matt Nix (“Burn Notice”), “Gifted” follows two ordinary parents who discover their children possess extraordinary powers. Forced to go on the run from the government, they join an underground network of mutants and must fight for their survival. Produced by Fox and Marvel Television, the series also stars Amy Acker, Stephen Moyer, Sean Teale and Coby Bell. The show does not yet have a release date.
