Brett Ratner has responded to Vinnie Jones' recent comments alleging he was "mugged off" in his role as Juggernaut in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. Jones explained in a previous interview how he had loved the role of Juggernaut and was excited to bring the character to life on the big screen. He shared how he had signed up for three movies, which he expressed demonstrated how "serious I was about it." That is until Ratner "dissolved" the character and stripped his role back to the point where Jones felt he was an extra instead of playing a beloved X-Men character.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Ratner responded to Jones' allegations, labeling them "inaccurate." He explained how he was unable to flesh out Juggernaut's character due to the movie's release date, joking how characters like Mystique had more screen time as they were "easier on the eyes." Jones also had to contend with the movie's influx of villains including Multiple Man, Calisto and Kid Omega, taking away from any further potential Juggernaut screentime.

Ratner wrote, "In all seriousness, I shot the script I was given and I was not able to expand the role of Juggernaut as per Vinnie's request due to the extremely limited time I had to deliver the film. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Vinnie Jones and his talent and thought he created a memorable character." Ratner added how he hoped there would one day be a solo Juggernaut movie, allowing Jones the opportunity to revisit and explore the character in the way he always wanted to.

X-Men: The Last Stand is available to stream now on Disney+.
