X-Men Set Photo Teases Cerebro, Kicks Off Comic-Con Countdown

Director Bryan Singer has a pretty good handle on Twitter, using the social-media platform to announce casting additions for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and to offer glimpses behind the scenes of the Fox sequel.

This morning the filmmaker upped the ante with a photo of a set that, while still in the early stages of construction, will undoubtedly be familiar to fans of the original X-Men trilogy: That's either the entrance to the Cerebro chamber beneath Charles Xavier's mansion, or a Hobbit hole -- I'm going with the first one.

However, Singer didn't stop with the photo, adding a caption that reads, "How many days until @Comic_Con?" suggesting that despite the July 2014 release date, Days of Future Past will have a presence this year at Comic-Con International.

The sequel to 2011′s X-Men: First Class features returning stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Holt and Jennifer Lawrence, joined by original X-Men trilogy cast members Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) reportedly is in talks to play the film's villain.
