BANSHEE

banshee-marvel

Banshee is a long-time member of the X-Men, joining the group in Giant-Size X-Men #1. The father of former X-Force leader Siryn, the Irish ex-Interpol agent is capable of deploying a supersonic scream. Although he spent years dead following the events of X-Men: Deadly Genesis, he was turned into a Horseman for the Apocalypse Twins before being restored shortly before the Krakoa era. He served as an advance scout in the build-up to X of Swords, and barely escaped back to Krakoa with his life. Now likely recovered from those injuries, Banshee could take this as a chance to return to more regular active field-work for the first time in years.

POLARIS

polaris

As the biological daughter of Magneto, Polaris inherited his ability to control metal with her mind. A powerful and frequent member and ally of the X-Men over the years, Polaris has settled into a major role on Krakoa as one of the founders of the new incarnation of X-Factor, which investigates the disappearances and deaths of mutants in an effort to aid the Five during their resurrection process. After briefly becoming a seer in X of Swords, Polaris used the remains of Rockslide to create the Sanctus Sacrum. Polaris could see joining the X-Men as a way to fight on in Rockslide's memory.

FORGE

X-Force Forge

Forge is one of the most potentially useful mutants ever born, capable of constructing almost anything he sets his mind to. Since helping Xavier set up the infrastructure of Krakoa, Forge has been working heavily with X-Force on Krakoa, incorporating elements of the living island into his intentions and generally assisting X-Force on their missions. If Forge wants more time in the field, he could easily become an asset for whatever X-Men team comes out of the election. However, it also puts the inventor at greater risk going forward and would take him away from his drawing table.

BOOM-BOOM

Capable of creating explosive balls, Boom-Boom was one of the mutants who were recruited and trained by the original X-Factor. After eventually joining up with X-Force and fighting alongside Cable, Boom-Boom has proven to be a resourceful and powerful young mutant. Boom-Boom has previously helped the New Mutants during missions into middle America, and her intervention that helped keep mutant drugs out of the hands of a dangerous gang. Trying to work through her alcoholic tendencies, formally joining the X-Men could be the perfect opportunity for Boom-Boom to further establish herself as a mature mutant hero.

TEMPO

Tempo was previously an enemy of the X-Men and a member of the Mutant Liberation Front. Capable of slowing or speeding up time around her, Tempo would later follow the Acolytes and even briefly became an X-Man during the reality-bending Age of X before dying in battle. She's been restored on Krakoa and has been hired by Sebastian Shaw to help create fine mutant whiskey. Joining the X-Men could allow Tempo to truly overcome her more villainous past, and potentially put a more mutant-first ideology on the team.

CANNONBALL

Cannonball blasting Cropped

Cannonball was one of the major original New Mutants, and he has gone on to accomplish a great many things over the years. Capable of propelling himself at high speeds through the air and becoming almost unstoppable, Cannonball has previously been an X-Man as well as even an Avenger alongside Sunspot. During this time, he met the new Smasher and began a romance with her, leading him to relocate to the Shi'Ar throne-world with her to help care for their son. The Krakoa Gate on that world could explain how Cannonball could join the team and still be with his family.

SUNSPOT

Like his best friend Cannonball, Sunspot graduated from the New Mutants to become a more crucial figure within the Marvel Universe. During his time with the Avengers, he even helped lead to the creation of a heroic variant of AIM that became known as Avengers Idea Mechanics. His ability to absorb sunlight and convert it into physical strength and stamina makes him a potential powerhouse. Sunspot also has a vested interest in Shi'Ar space (including his current romance with Deathbird), meaning he'd also likely be splitting his time between Earth and the Shi'Ar Empire

STRONG GUY

Marvel Comics X-Men Strong Guy slamming an enemy to the ground.

Strong Guy is able to absorb kinetic energy and use it to push his physical strength to new heights. Formerly a jokey prankster on the government-sponsored X-Factor roster, things changed when Strong Guy was briefly killed and restored to life by Layla Miller in a story that cost him his soul. He briefly became a Supreme Hell Lord after murdering Wolfsbane's son Tier, but eventually returned to the world. While he died alongside the X-Men in the build-up to House of X, Strong Guy could use this new place within the X-Men to make up for his past actions and redeem however much of his soul is left.

MARROW

Marrow vs Wolverine

Originally a Morlock, Marrow can control the growth of her bones, which usually protrude from her body as skeletal spikes. Coupled with a surprisingly effective healing factor, the defiant young woman can rip the bones from her body to use as weapons or armor. After initially meeting the team as a terrorist member of Gene Nation, Marrow eventually joined the X-Men for a time. She's flirted back and forth since then as both a hero and a villain, but rejoining the X-Men could give her the chance to fully redeem her past actions and set her on a heroic path going forward.

ARMOR

Armor from cover of Wolverine and the X-Men Alpha and Omega

Armor is able to create an almost impenetrable shield around herself in the form of an armor made of pure energy. Quickly proving herself to the X-Men, Armor became a consistent member of the Astonishing X-Men title. Armor has been one of the more proactive of the newer generation of mutants and has remained an active figure in Krakoa, even sharing a flirty relationship with the young Cable. Armor taking her place back with the X-Men proper could cement her as a future figurehead for the group.
