The greatest eras in the X-Men's long history are revisited on connecting variant covers for the first three issues of X-Men Legends.

Marvel's Stormbreakers artist Iban Coello illustrates the X-Men Legends connecting covers, which feature key moments from seminal X-Men runs including Charles Xavier's first class of mutants (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Beast and Angel); the Giant-Size X-Men roster of Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Nightcrawler and Thunderbird; the "Dark Phoenix Saga" as the X-Men battle their possessed teammate; the popular X-Men roster from X-Men: The Animated Series taking on a giant Sentinel; and Charles Xavier wearing Cerebro from House of X/Powers of X. Other villains featured are Magneto, Apocalypse and Mister Sinister.

"I became a fan of the X-Men with the animated series of the 90s, the comics drawn by Jim Lee, and the arcade fighting video game as well," Coello said in a statement. "Having the opportunity to draw those characters has been like going back to the past. I have really enjoyed doing my interpretation of all these characters!"

Marvel's Stormbreakers is a talent distinction program designed to lend a platform to up and coming comic book artists. Its first-class includes Coello, Joshua Cassara, Pat Gleason, Peach Momoko, Natacha Bustos, Carmen Carnero, Juann Cabal and R.B. Silva.

Writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Brett Booth will collaborate on X-Men Legends #1, a special saga featuring Cyclops and Havok that will resolve Adam-X's mysterious connection to the Summers bloodline.

"It's incredibly exciting to finally tell the story of the infamous 'third' Summers brother. Twenty-five years in the making, to see the truth about Adam-X revealed -- and drawn so magnificently by Brett Booth -- is one of the most surreal experiences of my career!" Nicieza said. "Getting the opportunity to tell this tale while kicking off the new X-Men Legends series is a x-tremely x-citing!"

Nicieza will join Chris Claremont, Louise Simonson, Larry Hama, Peter David and more as they return to their groundbreaking X-Men runs to tie up loose ends, dangling plot points that will have repercussions for the X-Men's past and future.

Written by Fabian Nicieza and illustrated by Brett Booth, X-Men Legends #1 goes on sale in February 2021 from Marvel Comics.
