WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Hellions #12 by Zeb Wells, Stephen Segovia, David Curiel and VC's Ariana Maher, on sale now.

In the modern era of Krakoa, almost all mutants -- regardless of their morality or age -- have been revived by the Five. However, there remains a handful kept from this miracle, with the legacy of one, Destiny, set to cause chaos on the island nation in the form of the upcoming Inferno. But there's another mutant whose revival and connection to the original Inferno sets up her former lover -- Havok -- to fan the flames of the event in the midst of the Hellfire Gala.

And in Hellions #12, Havok asks mutantkind's most powerful leaders why Madelyne Pryor, the woman he once loved, hasn't been brought back from the dead.

Havok has found himself a surprisingly polarizing figure on Krakoa. Following an outburst on a mission that almost resulted in him killing a human and earning himself banishment, Havok was assigned to the Hellions, the band of murderous mutants looking to potentially find redemption. Their first mission for Krakoa only made him more unstable, with Havok confronted by Madelyne Pryor, a clone of Jean Grey, who married his brother and eventually betrayed the X-Men in the original "Inferno." Her attempt to lead a corrupted army to the doorsteps of Krakoa and wipe out the population was prevented by the Hellions, with Pryor being shot down by Greycrow and dying in Havok's arms.

Due to her status as a clone and given her history, the Quiet Council elected to ignore Havok's pleas and did not resurrect her. This enraged Havok, whose words ended up spreading through Krakoa and setting off debate among the New Mutants thanks to Scout. The issue is still clearly on his mind, as Havok spends much of the Hellfire Gala speaking of Pryor. At various points in Hellions #12, Havok tries to speak with Charles Xavier and Magneto about the decision. He doesn't argue for her revival so much as fight to receive a better understanding of their decision-making process, possibly inviting debate into the situation and bringing the question of her revival back to the forefront.

Notably, both Xavier and Magneto try to distract from the conversation. Xavier directs Havok's attention to the newly arrived rest of the Hellions roster, who weren't invited to the event. Magneto is more curt about, drawing his daughter Polaris's attention to the matter. He clearly intends it to be somewhat awkward, considering the romantic history of Havok and Polaris over the years. To her credit, Polaris is understanding of Alex and his feelings for Pryor -- but insists that the Quiet Council would have good reasons for their decisions, and wouldn't treat such a decision lightly. But it suggests that Pryor's fate still weighs heavily on Havok's mind and could spurn him to action.

The teaser for the upcoming "Inferno" suggests that the event is tied to Mystique finally taking revenge for Krakoa refusing to revive her lost love, Destiny. It's possible she could see a potential ally in Havok, someone else who has had one of their greatest connections severed. It's clear that Havok isn't letting the matter lie, and he could even help sway more mutants, such as the Hellions, to his side of the debate. If so, then his attempts to revive Pryor could set off a firestorm in the Quiet Council and actually play a part in ushering in the chaos of a new "Inferno," with these first steps during the "Hellfire Gala" only stoking the flames of conflict.
