The following contains spoilers for X-Men #19, now on sale from Marvel Comics.

The X-Men have been exploring the upper limits of their powers and universe in the Krakoa Era, pushing the boundaries of known and unknown space. Their adventures through Otherworld and against the forces of Amenth are just some of their recent escapades, and their latest might have inadvertently connected them to another Marvel team.

X-Men #19 (by Gerry Duggan, Stefano Caselli, Federico Blee, and VC's Clayton Cowles) reveals that frequent explorer Forge and M (Penance) have embarked on a strange adventure to an undiscovered space in the Marvel Universe. In the process of exploring the inner workings of a black hole, the pair have located Knowhere, which MCU fans will recognize from Guardians of the Galaxy. While the comics-version of the space station was lost, it seems like the X-Men may have found a way to make it their own.

The X-Men Found Knowhere in a Black Hole

X-Men Forge Knowhere Discovery 1

Knowhere was introduced in the aftermath of Annihilation, first appearing in Nova #8 (by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Wellinton Alves, Scott Hanna, and Guru-eFX). It is a frequent base for the Guardians of the Galaxy and has been missing for quite some time. At first, Knowhere was seemingly lost in an artificial black hole in order to contain Thanos and Hela, however, it seems like that might not be the case anymore.

It turns out that before the teenaged Cable had returned to his proper place in time-stream, Forge recruited him to take them back to the recent past so that he could deposit a secret Krakoa Gate into Knowhere without anyone's knowledge. Doing so connects the Krakoa Gates to the cosmic base, which becomes slightly more complicated by the present-day status of Knowhere being lost within the heart of an artificial black hole. But after discovering that the Krakoa Gate is still active, Forge and M decide to embark on a mission to explore it and find out what may be on the other side of a black hole.

Knowhere Could Potentially Save the Marvel Universe

X-Men Forge Knowhere Discovery 3

The idea of exploring the inside of a black hole has intrigued plenty of scientific minds over the years, and it seems Forge is no exception. Stepping through the Krakoa Gate, Forge and M seemingly lose feeling in their body and witness events that may or may not come to pass. Eventually, the two reach Knowhere and explore the space station, observing the strange phenomenon that occurs outside the regular universe.

The X-Men's most recent discovery, opens a lot of doors, especially if Forge and M can get a handle on how to move and impact the surrounding space. Their discovery could turn Knowhere into the ultimate shelter for the mutants of Krakoa in case of a dark turn of events. On the other hand, this could also be an ultimate prison for the X-Men, a far-removed place to send anyone who threatens their nation. With the rest of the X-Men currently dealing with a massive surge in Brood, Knowhere could be a way to trap the ravenous alien race and keep them away from the rest of the Marvel Universe.
