X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
Director Matthew Vaughn tells The Los Angeles Times the film has already felt the influence of "Inception". Though he loved Christopher Nolan's film, he found a sequence in his script -- a battle in a dream state -- too similar to be produced. "My heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards," said the director. Meanwhile, Vaughn tells IGN the film will have some comparisons to the "Star Trek" reboot. "[J.J. Abrams] made a fantastically exciting reinvention of that world, with those great characters," said the director. "But we're doing some cool stuff in this movie, some really cool stuff that you haven't seen before."

Time for your periodic "Batman 3" rumor report. According to Josh Wilding at Comic Book Movie, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Leonardo Di Caprio, and Tom Hardy are all vying for a role in the film. "Apparently, the studio is especially keen on allowing Nolan to hire one of the actors because of the extra publicity and attention it would bring to the movie (as did Christian Bale re-teaming with Christopher Nolan in 'The Prestige' for example) while the fact they were all praised for their performances also plays a part," he writes. As they are all fine actors, I'd hardly be surprised to see one or all of them appear in the third "Begins" cycle film. With The Riddler heavily rumored to be the villain of the peice, one of these lads could put on the question mark tie. Wilding cautions taking the report too seriously as his source is the infamous "Studio Insider."

Director Matthew Vaughn tells MTV News why the making of documentary on the "Kick-Ass" DVD and Blu-Ray is different from most other making of docs. "I worked with our documentary producer before, and we got him involved right at the inception of the film, almost in a very early pre-production, to interview everybody and film the entire process very, very thoroughly. Because it's an independent movie, we had total freedom to show the entire ugly process of making a film," said the director. "It's a very tense, fun and creative, but tough, process. In the documentary, we didn't hold back with any controversy or the arguments we had - it's everything we went through to make the film, in terms of creative discussion and disagreements. Everything is in there. I was very keen on people getting a true account of the making of the film." This is the sort of thing I like to see. Knowing people had arguments on set doesn't diminish my appreciation of a film.
