Following weeks of silence on her social media accounts, it's now being reported that X-Men: Days of Future Past actor Fan Bingbing may be banned from acting for the next three years.

According to The Apple Daily, Fan has been banned from acting for three years following allegations of tax evasion. While Fan's management firm, Fan’s Workshop -- as well as CAA, which represents the actor -- has opted not to comment on these reports, Fan's disappearance from social media has had fans worried since early July, when she was last seen in public visiting a children’s hospital.

Reports of Fan committing tax evasion first surfaced back in June, when Cui Yongyuan, a Chinese television presenter, claimed to have proof that she had taken multiple contracts for projects. Said contracts are referred to as "yin-yang" contracts, with only one contract being declared to tax authorities. Fan denied the allegations against her, however, the Chinese government announced shortly after that they were conducting an investigation into the supposed yin-yang contracts.

Fan had recently completed filming on Bliss Media and Kylin Media’s The King’s Daughter and is still set to appear in the upcoming thriller Unbreakable Spirit, alongside Bruce Willis and Adrien Brody, although her name will now be stripped from all publicity materials for the film. It remains to be seen what will happen with the film 355, an all-female action movie that was set to star Fan, alongside the likes of Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Lupita Nyong'o. That film was a hot commodity at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year and managed to secure a distribution deal from Universal after a multi-studio bidding war.
