WARNING: The following contains spoilers for "Prelude to Demon Days" by Peach Momoko, Zack Davisson and VC’s Ariana Maher from King in Black #4, on sale now.

The Juggernaut is famously depicted as "unstoppable" in almost every corner of Marvel's multiverse. Most of the time, Cain Marko is one of Marvel's strongest characters, holding his own against foes such as the Hulk and Thor. However, that's not true one of the newest worlds of the Marvel Multiverse, where the Juggernaut was taken down with a single sword strike.

Marko's humiliating defeat came in "Prelude to Demon Days," which sets up the upcoming Demon Days: X-Men miniseries. This world reimagines the X-Men through the lens of Japanese folktales and samurai epics. X-Men like Psylocke and Wolverine are reimagined in a new context, with Psylocke depicted as a samurai and Logan as her loyal dog.

And in this prequel, the Juggernaut is transformed into Emma Frost's bodyguard. Instead of Cain Marko, however, this character is named Jaga. Emma Frost is renamed as Yuki Onna, otherwise known as the Snow Witch or the White Queen. Simply based on appearance, Jaga is strikingly different from the Earth-616 Juggernaut.

Jaga wears a similar helmet to Cain Marko, with a ruby red outfit that shares a similar color scheme to the Juggernaut. Otherwise, Jaga appears to be a regular strongman. As Jaga's boss, the White Queen orders him to take down Psylocke. In the subsequent fight, Jaga charges straight at Psylocke, much like the original Juggernaut would. Seemingly defenseless and frozen to the ground by the White Queen, Psylocke is saved by Logan. Psylocke's loyal dog viciously scratches Jaga in the face, temporarily blinding him.

However, Psylocke manages to free herself and takes the battle from there, ending it with one decisive strike. Of course, Jaga does get the chance for one good blow, charging at Psylocke and punching her in the stomach. Yet Psylocke seems fairly unshaken, using her blade to slash Jaga in the face, which instantly kills him.

This brief confrontation demonstrates how much weaker Jaga is than the Earth-616 Juggernaut. Jaga's face is vulnerable enough that he can be scratched by a violent dog, and subsequently killed with a sword. Jaga's punch also had little effect on Psylocke, illustrating how much lower his power levels are thanthe regular Juggernaut's.

Naturally, with different versions of these characters, Demon Days: X-Men isn't going to cling to the original Juggernaut's power levels. It's unclear whether or not this Juggernaut is powered by the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, for example. Perhaps Jaga is much weaker because he never found the gem that empowered Cain Marko. But with no apparent powers of his own, Jaga's quick defeat makes sense.

This fight could also highlight how strong this version of Psylocke truly is. Psylocke is not only able to endure a fairly strong blow from Jaga, she easily dispatches her foe in one move immediately afterward. While she's always been one of the more dangerous X-Men, It's pretty shocking to see Psylocke take down any version of the Juggernaut, especially with such ease.

Overall, this is only an introduction to the world of Demon Days: X-Men, which will be explored on a far grander scale in the upcoming miniseries. Only time will tell just how powerful the Psylocke truly is, even if she already has one impressive takedown under her belt.
