While Alison Blaire/Dazzler may have originally been created by Marvel for a film deal that fell through, the character soon found popularity in her own title before joining with the X-Men to become one of the team's most powerful members– though that fact may not always be recognized by her fellow mutants.

Of course, Dazzler doesn't always showcase the extreme levels of her ability to absorb sound and convert the energy into light, but she has been forced to push her potential a few times over the years, proving that Dazzler can be one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel universe.

10 One-Hit Dazzle

Dazzler first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men #130, which also happens to be near the beginning of the Dark Phoenix Saga, which saw armored agents of the Hellfire Club interrupting Dazzler's live show while hunting the X-Men.

Dazzler lashed out at one of the Hellfire Club agents with her untested powers, resulting in an uncontrolled blast of dazzling lights that overwhelmed "his eyes, his mind, his soul" and caused a complete breakdown that left him catatonic.

9 Beat The Hulk

Dazzler's earlier solo days saw quite a few team-ups with popular heroes, as well as incredible confrontations that put Dazzler up against quite a few powerful threats, including one of Marvel's toughest heroes, the Incredible Hulk.

Bruce Banner was investigating possible top-secret genetic research at the same university Dazzler was gigging at, and when he inevitably hulked out, Dazzler was forced to intervene, and she was eventually able to talk him down to the point that she could create a soothing light show that triggered Hulk's transformation back into Banner.

8 Empowered By Galactus

Small Dazzler vs Big Galactus

Not content with taking on one of Earth's most powerful heroes, Dazzler soon found herself in space after she was witnessed absorbing the sound form of Klaw by the sensors of Galactus' robotic drone and later abducted.

Galactus required Dazzler's unique ability to radiate light so she could enter a black hole dimension and retrieve his rebellious herald Terrax. He empowered her with incredible sounds that included an exploding galaxy while also coating her in cosmic energy, allowing her to not only survive in the black hole but also take on the cosmically powered Terrax.

7 Global Flare

Shortly after Dazzler was outed to the public as a mutant by her movie producer boyfriend in the Dazzler: The Movie graphic novel, he arranged for a demonstration of her abilities to help build buzz for their film.

Dazzler was surrounded by 747 airplanes and began to absorb the sounds of the jet engines, the crowd, and everything around her to shine as brightly as she ever had, which resulted in a flare that could be seen from space, making Dazzler an unofficial new wonder of the world.

6 Saved The Multiverse

Dazzler was asked by Cyclops to use her abilities to activate the multiversal device known as a Ghost Box, which sucked her into an alternate dimension where she became the leader of a new team that appeared in X-Treme X-Men.

Her team was filled with alternate-reality versions of classic X-Men members that even encountered a battle-hardened zombie-killing version of Dazzler, though it was the mainstream Alison who led the battle against 10 evil alternate-reality Xaviers that ultimately resulted in her saving the multiverse from their powerful threat.

5 Dazzler The Vampire Hunter

The X-Men encountered a new threat from an old enemy when they were forced to deal with an army of vampires who were able to protect themselves from the effects of the sun with special blood amulets.

Dazzler was working alongside the X-Men during their time on Utopia, often teaming-up with mutant speedster Northstar on the street team of heroes. Northstar was able to quickly remove the amulets from an entire wave of vicious vampires during an attack so that Dazzler could fry them all in one fell swoop with a blast of powerful ultraviolet light.

4 Blew Off Psylocke's Face

The Sisterhood of Mutants was organized by Madelyne Pryor, who was hoping to make her reincarnation permanent by finding genetic material from Jean Grey's body with the help of other mutants, including Kwannon in the body of Psylocke.

Dazzler was part of the all-female team that took the fight to the Sisterhood after their initial attack on the X-Men, and she let loose with a high-powered laser that was powered by the ambient sounds of San Francisco that literally blew off the face of the "restless murder spirit."

3 Absorbed Black Bolt's Voice

Black Bolt is the powerful leader of the Inhumans whose smallest whisper is capable of shattering mountains. Yet Dazzler has faced the Royal King a couple of times, walking away with a victory under her disco belt.

While they first met as friends and Black Bolt used his deadly voice to power her up enough to take out a light-infused Absorbing Man, she was forced to deal with him as an enemy during Inhumans vs X-Men, where she managed to absorb the entirety of his vocal assault and redirect it back at him, taking him out of the fight.

2 Destroyed A Fleet Of Reaver-Enhanced Sentinels

Havok hasn't set the best example for the X-Men in recent years, but he still managed to pull together a motley crew of Astonishing X-Men that included Dazzler to deal with a new Sentinel threat that was being constructed by the Office of National Emergency/O*N*E.

The Reavers managed to steal the necessary information to finish the new tech that allowed them to integrate with an entire fleet of Sentinels, which Alison destroyed entirely after a sonic boost from Sean Cassidy/Banshee.

1 Krakoan Light Show

While Alison's most recent dazzling event of power was strictly done in celebration on the island of Krakoa, it was no less impressive and truly showcased the potential of Dazzler's mutant ability with the right sonic backing.

In the first real celebration on the new mutant society formed on Krakoa, Dazzler was already providing an exciting light show for the party when Theresa Cassidy/Siryn adder her sonic scream to the mix, allowing Dazzler to properly kick off the "Dawn of X" era with an island-wide display of mutant power.
