The Anna Paquin scenes edited from director Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past will be restored in a special "Rogue Cut," planned for release next summer on Blu-ray and DVD.

Variety reports screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg made the announcement Thursday on the Fox studio lot, saying the new cut will add another 10 minutes to the film, including sequences centering on other characters.

“It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie,” Kinberg said. “We want to give [fans] the fullest picture of the film — behind the camera, and in front of it." He added, “Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character."

Singer revealed in December that while Paquin's sequence was "really good," it became clear in the editing process that it was "extraneous"; Rogue's thread simply "didn't fit" with the storyline, Kinberg said, Thursday. Paquin does appear in Days of Future Past, although only in a cameo. The film is available now on Google Play, and arrives Oct. 14 on Blu-ray and DVD.
