The fan-favorite speedster of 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise -- Quicksilver -- will apparently have undergone something of an emotional growth spurt by the time X-Men: Dark Phoenix arrives next year.
"He's definitely a little older and more mature, a little more subdued," Evans explained to Screen Rant, "sort of trying to make a, not a name but trying to do right by the X-Men and be a good guy and use his powers for good, so I think he's on that path at the moment."
Peters' version of Quicksilver debuted in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and after his show-stealing scene in which he sabotaged numerous security officers at the Pentagon using his super-speed, he instantly won the adoration of fans. However, in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, the character began to acclimate to his newfound role as a hero, rather than a simple lightning-fast thief, and it sounds like he'll further embrace these choices in Dark Phoenix, as well.
Opening Feb. 14. 2019, X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Ship as Storm, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.
