Marvel released the official covers for X-Men #20 and X-Factor #9, which promise to upend the mutant heroes' lives.

The cover for X-Men #20 is the most shocking, as it features a heavily damaged Nimrod Sentinel. The Nimrods made an appearance during the Powers of X miniseries by Jonathan Hickman and R.B. Silva, which took place 100 years into a future where only a handful of X-Men were alive. Hickman will write X-Men #20, with Francesco Mobili on art and a cover by Leinil Francis Yu.

With X-Factor #9, the members of X-Factor will continue their battle against the malevolent Morrigan — which takes them back to Mojoworld and a rock concert led by mutant singers Lila Cheney and Alison Blaire — better known as the Dazzler. First appearing in The New Mutants Annual #1, Lila has the ability to teleport between planets. X-Factor #9 is written by Leah Williams, with David Baldeón on art and a cover by Ivan Shavrin.

Both X-Men and X-Factor will take a brief hiatus after their respective March issues. The X-Men will soon unveil a new mutant roster at the mysterious Hellfire Gala in June, with Cyclops and Jean Grey acting as the team's leaders. Fans had the chance to vote for the final member of the team, and will also have the chance to be drawn into an issue of X-Men under the Marvel Insiders program.

X-Men #20 and X-Factor #9 both go on sale on May 12 from Marvel.
