After coming back to life in the chaos following House of M and the ensuing Decimation, Magik has increasingly become one of the more powerful mutants affiliated with the X-Men. On top of her impressive teleportation abilities, experience with the mystical arts and her massive Soul Sword, Magik is also a Great Captain of Krakoa -- and the undisputed Queen of the demonic realm Limbo. All of this makes her a remarkably dangerous threat to anyone who stands in her way.
Magik has always wrestled with a dark side that was exposed during her trips into Limbo during her youth -- and multiple alternate realities and possible futures have been shown where Magik ended up becoming a major threat to the world. Although there's a chance she could become the heroic Sorcerer Supreme down the line, it's just as likely she's a crisis waiting to happen. And now, thanks to Cable, she might be getting an even more demonic power boost.

The villainous Stryfe has been kidnapping mutant infants and preparing for some demonically-minded plan -- with the recently restored original Cable discovering that shortly before the official beginning of Krakoa, Stryfe became obsessed with discovering supernatural items. This includes the demon Belasco's spellbook, which (with the sacrifice of the mutant children) could allow for a demonic invasion of Earth. Discovering the location of the hidden hellish dimension that Stryfe has been using as a base of operations and staging ground for his invasion, Cable orders his younger incarnation to rally their allies while he investigates the realm personally.
His first stop is to find Magik and offer her a marker in exchange for her assistance. Reaching the dimension, Magik is surprised that she's never found this demonic plane. Revealing that Stryfe discovered it, Cable promises it to Magik once they're done defeating Stryfe's newest plans. Considering that Magik is already lord of an entire hell dimension -- and has ensured that potential rivals like Belasco and N'astirh have been contained and dealt with -- this is a huge step up for her. If she can lay claim to another demonic army, then Magik could quietly be setting herself up as one of the Marvel Universe's most powerful rulers, with two entire armies of demons at her back.
With that kind of power, Magik could feasibly bring down any force at will. If nothing else, this gives Krakoa -- who Magik is loyal to -- a great deal of surprising support if they're ever drawn into an actual all-out war. With these forces at her command, Magik could stand alone against entire hordes of enemies. Coupled with the mutant army of Krakoa's inherent power and the additional advantage of Planet Arakko's largely ruthless population at their side as mutant allies, the X-Men could likely win any full-blown conflict. But it's important to remember that the original Inferno resulted in Magik's defeat, the denizens of Limbo being turned into fodder for the Goblyn Queen's attempted conquest of Earth, and Magik being reduced to a powerless child form -- and that another Inferno is set to begin in the coming months.
With the new Inferno heating up in secret thanks to Mystique's fury with Krakoa, there also remains the possibility that Havok could succeed in his ambition to restore Pryor -- which in turn could make the newly conquered armies of demons a very potent weapon for anyone devious enough to take it. Even if Magik herself doesn't break bad again, the amount of demonic power she's amassed should be worrisome for the world, especially if someone villainous gained control of it -- which could result in a lot of chaos down the line.
