WARNING: This article contains spoilers for X-Men Blue #24 by Cullen Bunn, Jorge Molina, Matt Milla, Jay David Ramos and Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

Go up and down the roster of an X-Men comic, and you're more than likely to see Wolverine -- or a mutant closely associated with the revived X-Man -- as one of its members. For X-Men Blue, that honor belongs to Jimmy Hudson, son of the Wolverine from the Ultimate Universe. But with the original, time-displaced team X-Men lost in space and his enemies swarming, Magneto has been forced to get creative to further fill out his ranks.

And, as we see in the latest issue, part of that creativity includes adding another member of Logan's family tree, because the only thing better than having one Wolverine is two!

There Will Be A Price To Pay

Stepping out of the shadows, Magneto pays a visit to the Hellfire Club to confront Sebastian Shaw, who is more powerful than ever thanks to the Mothervine. Havok, Emma Frost, Miss Sinister and Bastion are all working together to distribute the Mothervine across the globe, in an effort to evolve mutants to the dominant species.

As far as these villains are concerned, all the Mothervine does is increase a mutant's powers, or provide an additional set of powers. However, there are dangerous side effects that they are willfully overlooking. One of these side effects is on display in the Master of Magnetism's fight against Shaw, when the latter's new mutations turn against his body.

While Magneto is all for helping mutants claim the top spot in the gene pool, he'd prefer it not be at the expense of a highly unstable science experiment. Displaying a softer side, Magneto spares Shaw's life in exchange for taking him to meet the Mothervine's masters.

Welcome To The Party

While that's happening, longtime associate of Magneto, Briar Raleigh, heads to Spain for a meeting with our mystery Wolverine relative. It's perhaps worth pointing out that aside from her leg brace, Briar's choice in clothing and her red hair make her an almost identical twin to Black Widow.

As for the person Briar was sent to meet in a loud, colorful nightclub, it's none other than Logan's son, Daken, who has gone from a straight-up Marvel villain to more of a pure good guy, after team-ups with his sister, Laura Kinney in All-New Wolverine.

After a few moments of flirting, the two get down to the business at hand. Daken was expecting Magneto to come himself, but he instead sent Briar in his place. She doesn't come empty handed, of course; Magneto's offer includes a pair of adamantium blades, which were bought on the black market and shaped using his magnetic powers.

After Polaris rid herself of the evil Malice influence and Xorn was rescued from the Ultimate Universe Mauraders by Jimmy Hudson and Bloodstorm, Magneto's numbers are gradually increasing. He'll need all the help he can get from his makeshift team if he's to be victorious over the keepers of the Mothervine, though as we've learned from MArvel's solicitations for upcoming issues, not everyone Magneto is bringing into his war will make it out alive.
