One of the most unstoppable forces in all of comics, Juggernaut has long been a standout Marvel character.  Between the X-Men, Avengers, Hulk, and even Spider-Man, Juggernaut has fought many of Marvel's greatest heroes.

Due to his storied history, Juggernaut (aka Cain Marko) has gone through several looks over the years. Between his appearances in alternate universes, live-action films, and simple changes in the mainstream universe, Marko has a long list of costumes in his past. Some of these looked badass, while others were not quite as exciting. Here are the five best Juggernaut costumes, and the five worst.

10 5th Worst - Ultimate

The Marvel Ultimate line of comics was a big hit when it debuted in the early 2000s. Offering an alternate universe look at all of our favorite heroes, it was a fresh new take that was sorely needed. Although many of these changes to Marvel characters felt great, many changes were downright cringe-worthy.

A cross between trailer park trash and Weapon X inductee, this Juggernaut looked more like something out of a Mad Max movie than an X-Men villain. Unfortunately, it gets much worse than this.

9 5th Best - Kuurth, Breaker Of Stone

Juggernaut Possessed by Kuurth, Breaker of Stone, charging forward

While we all know Thor has Mjolnir, there are many other hammers in the nine worlds of Norse myth. During the Fear Itself storyline, the seven hammers of the worthy all land on Earth. Lifting one of these hammers, Juggernaut is transformed into Kuurth, Breaker of Stone.

Juggernaut's powers received a tremendous increase while holding the hammer. Not only that, but he also got a new look. Looking like some sort of mix between an alien beast and a god, this Juggernaut was quite intimidating. One of his scariest looks for sure.

8 4th Worst - Captain Universe

CAPTAIN UNIVERSE JUGGERNAUT

One of the most powerful cosmic energies in the Marvel universe is the Uni-Power. The Uni-Power travels around the universe, looking for a worthy host to inhabit. That host then becomes the new Captain Universe, meant to act heroically in times of crisis.

On one very surprising occasion, the Uni-Power chose Cain Marko. While the power increase is very cool, the actual look of Captain Universe/ Juggernaut is underwhelming. It just looks too cheesy.

7 4th Best - Colossus

Colossus with the power of Juggernaut

Juggernaut is powered by a gem. This gem draws his strength from the dimension of Cyttorak, a mystical entity of seemingly infinite power. During the Fear Itself storyline, when Juggernaut became Kuurth, Cyttorak chose a new champion to help reign in his former one.

That new champion was the X-Man Colossus. Possessing both his own mutant power and the power of Juggernaut, this new Colossus was a force to be reckoned with. In addition to that, he also looked great. Combining both Colossus' metal skin and Juggernaut's costume, this is one of the better-looking Juggernaut's we've seen.

6 3rd Worst - Age Of Apocalypse

When an alternate reality is created where Apocalypse rules over the world, many of our mainstream Marvel characters were given amazing new looks. From Wolverine to Magneto, even Spider-Man had a new look. Among all of the great alternate takes, Juggernaut was not one of them.

Simply wearing tattered robes, if you didn't know this was Cain Marko, you would've never guessed it. With all of the great revamps to mainstay Marvel characters, it's disappointing that Juggernaut did not get his due.

5 3rd Best - Deadpool 2

Juggernaut Helmet from Deadpool 2

A good follow-up to a great film, Deadpool 2 was a satisfying installment in the franchise. Hidden in the marketing campaign for the movie, it was a big surprise for comic fans when Juggernaut appeared on-screen. Although not overly featured in the movie, he made for a great antagonist.

One of the best parts of this Juggernaut is his costume. We get the classic Juggernaut helmet, but also a prison uniform grounding him in this new cinematic world. It's a great balance of old and new.

4 2nd Worst - X-Men: The Last Stand

Juggernaut X-Men The Last Stand

One of the worst X-Men movies also has one of the worst Juggernaut costumes. This 2006 installment to Fox's X-Men franchise could not have been more of a disappointment. Based on one of the best comic runs of all time, this movie paled in comparison.

Fans could not have been more excited to see Juggernaut on screen for the first time. But most of them left the theaters saying, "What a waste." While it appears they were trying to be faithful to the comic books with his helmet, it looked way too clunky. Like a piece of concrete had gotten stuck to Marko's head. That, mixed with the bland outfit, made for an awful costume. But not the worst.

3 2nd Best - X-Men

There have been a few times throughout Juggernaut's history when he has fought for good. On some of those occasions, he has even joined the X-Men roster. Hoping to reform and become a better person, Juggernaut made for a valuable member of the team.

The outfit was a perfect blend of Marko's original style and the X-Men uniform. His black helmet and metal costume with yellow highlights perfectly fit in with the team while also making it clear this is still the Juggernaut. We hope to see this look again in the future.

2 Worst - MC2

The MC2 universe was the first big alternate universe that Marvel created. While not as popular as the Ultimate comics became, the MC2 had some great characters, most notably Peter Parker's daughter Mayday, aka Spider-Girl.

One character that was not so great was the new Juggernaut. The son of the original, Zane Yama inherited the powers of his father and used them to fight on the new Avengers team. The worst part of Zane is his costume. He looked more like Humpty Dumpty than anything else.

1 Best - Classic

Juggernaut

C'mon now, you can't beat the original! From the very moment Juggernaut was created, this classic look has stood the test of time. From the giant dome helmet to more subtle details such as his brass-knuckles, the original costume is impossible to beat.

No matter how many times the writers or artists change Marko's look, it will always eventually revert back to the basics. As it should. There's only one true look for the unstoppable Juggernaut.
