"X-Men: Apocalypse" Unleashes Skull-Crushing New Poster

Mere hours after dropping the first trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse," director Bryan Singer has unleashed the 2016 mutant movie's first poster via Instagram. Appropriately, the image features the villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) in profile, crushing a skull in his hand. Emblazoned across the top of the poster is the villain's modus operandi: "Only the strong will survive."

More details of Apocalypse's movie look can be seen in the poster, including the nods to elements of his comic book look like his distinctive cheekbone line and carapace armor. We also got to see the character in motion in the trailer, which confirmed that Isaac's villain will also have the size-changing abilities he has in the comics.

Directed by Bryan Singer and starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and more, "X-Men: Apocalypse" opens on May 27, 2016.
