Despite being a popular member of the X-Men team, audiences didn't see much of Jubilee/Jubilation Lee in X-Men: Apocalypse. Now, Lana Condor -- who played the explosive superhero in the 2016 film -- has shared her opinion on the character's limited screen time.

During an interview with Stylecaster, Condor said she shot "way more" scenes as Jubilee for Apocalypse than what were ultimately seen in the final film. The character's limited on-screen presence resulted in some backlash from Asian-American fans -- backlash Condor says she did not initially understand.

"In the moment, I was happy for any part I could get," she said. "Now, if that same experience happened, I would be pretty discouraged and upset and feel there was an injustice." In spite of the criticism regarding Jubilee's screen time, it was never addressed why exactly so many of the character's scenes were cut. Notably, X-Men: Apocalypse was Condor's very first feature film. "I thought you had to pay

for craft services," she shared elsewhere in the interview. "I was so green,"

Much of Jubilee's fame comes from the 1990s X-Men animated series, though the character initially debuted in Marvel Comics' 1989 release Uncanny X-Men #244. The character has also appeared in such cartoons as Spider-Man: The Animated Series and X-Men: Evolution, as well as the live-action made-for-TV movie Generation X. Prior to Apocalypse, the character -- played by multiple actors -- had small cameos in the original X-Men film trilogy.

She has also appeared in Patriots Day, Alita: Battle Angel and Summer Night.
