Curiously, Marvel Comics did not release a preview for Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Francis Yu's X-Men #7 alongside the other previews for titles arriving this Wednesday. However, the House of Ideas has how released a teaser image for its flagship mutant series' latest installment.

The cryptic teaser features panels from the comics' interior, in which one Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, is seen calmly drinking from a coffee mug. "So..." the mutant superhero says. "Crucible is today." The panels are accompanied by a question to Marvel fans, one that simply reads: "Will you be there?"

While the promotional image is intentionally vague, there are several clues regarding what X-Men #7 could have in store for readers. Interestingly, Professor X used the word "crucible" to describe the massacre of Genosha that claimed the lives of over 16 million mutants. What's more, the new issue's solicitation information reads, "MUTANTS ARE FOREVER! The Resurrection Protocols have changed everything for Mutantkind. NO MORE can humans’ hate and fear take their lives from them. But…what ELSE has it changed?"

The Dawn of X era of X-Men comics ushered in by Hickman has introduced the "Resurrection Protocols" -- a game-changing new method of resurrecting fallen mutants. When X-Men #7 drops this Wednesday, it appears readers will be given a look at the implications of this on a significant scale.
