Meanwhile, actor Ben Foster was hanging out with some little-known singer named Justin somebody, and MTV showed an interest, chronicling the conversation. “My favorite action scene playing Angel was my first flying scene,” Foster said. “The cool thing about this particular ‘X-Men’ movie is that we’re doing our own stunts. No joke. Hugh Jackman, if you see him moving entirely too fast? It’s him. That’s us doing it. We’re in some of the most cutting-edge wire work available, so I’m doing 80-foot drops head first attached to basically just a jock strap and a metal wire.”

Director Nick Cassavetes was interviewed by MTV, and the story had a interesting tidbit: “Now he’s in pre-production on ‘Iron Man,’ a big-budget superhero flick about one of the most popular characters in the comic book world. He said diehard fans’ hopes that the character’s costume will stay classic rather than go state-of-the-art is a ‘smart idea,’ adding that, ‘[It will be] more mechanical than high-tech — that’s the way to go on that.” Referring to his vision of Tony Stark’s costume as a ‘flying tin can,’ Cassavetes said, ‘Marvel [Comics] is working things out right now.’ He concluded by saying no actor (including the once-attached Tom Cruise) has been signed to play Stark yet.”
