X-Men 3, Spider-Man 2, Constantine and more: Comic Reel Wrap for November 26th

Director Brian Singer sat down with TV Guide and talked sequel. He quotes Ian McKellen's Magneto commenting to Patrick Stewart's Xavier -- "You should have killed me when you had the chance" -- as the linchpin for the film. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner told Variety that she wants the Beast and the Danger Room in the next sequel. Also, Comics Continuum has pored over the X2 DVD for details, and will be presenting a two-part report on what they found, starting here.

Comics Continuum also has notes about the new web-spinning sequel, including the fact that 35 Spider-suits were made for the film, with slightly tweaked visual design from the original and that LOTR fans will see the first trailer with their movie on December 17, with the trailer online two days earlier (according to Superherohype).

"Lobo," "Adrenalynn," "Wonder Woman" and "Aliens vs. Predators." That's what's on the mind of one of Hollywood's most powerful producers. He sat down with About.com and confirmed that he's opted out of "Adrenalynn," he's script doctoring "Wonder Woman," he's struggling with studio desires that "Lobo" be PG-13, that "Predator 2" "just wasn't a good movie," and that "AvP" will "be fresh and new."

Sci Fi Wire caught up with Keanu Reeves about his role as chain smoking magician John Constantine. Reeves said, "There's a line in it: 'God has a plan for all of us. Some people like it, and some people don't.' That's kind of my Constantinian take on it. Some people like it. John Constantine doesn't like it, but he likes it.'" That's as unclear to us here at the Comic Reel as it probably is to you. Reeves also said that despite the fact "he's just made love with a demon ... we're trying to deliver a PG-13 film," which may peeve some of the property's more hard core fans.

Quicktime, glorious Quicktime. The trailer is now online.

It will be a combination of tryptophan and GTA: VC that will keep the Comic Reel from you tomorrow, gentle reader, but fear not -- we'll be back, bloated and belching, on Friday. If you have the scoop on anything related to comic book movies, TV adaptations or just want to give us a truck full of cash, no questions asked, drop us a line and let's coordinate. You can choose an alias if you'd like, or be mentioned by name -- we honor requests for anonymity. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it, our fondest wishes to the First Americans and others who don't, and (insert pithy sign-off here, once it gets out of development hell).
