When Jonathan Hickman released a confirmed list of Marvel's omega-level mutants, which highlighted some of the most powerful mutants who have settled on the new island nation of Krakoa, there were a few characters missing from the list who had proven themselves to be just as powerful as some of the official omegas.

Rachel Summers, who many consider as the first omega-level mutant was suspiciously absent as was Nate Grey, the Age of Apocalypse exile known as X-Man who has exhibited incredibly powerful feats of omega-level abilities that have proven he belongs on the official omega list as well, despite his alternate-reality origins.

10 Destroyed His Camp By Accident

Nate had very little control or knowledge of his abilities when he first appeared, as while he appeared to be around the age of 17 he had literally only been born from one of Mister Sinister's accelerated aging genetic tanks.

So when he attempted to push his telepathy in the woods while living on the road with his newfound rebel family, his telekinetic outburst destroyed the area of trees he had used for his secret training. It was a brief look at the true power that was hiding within young Nate Grey.

9 Pulled Xavier From The Astral Plane

X-Man's home reality was a world without Professor Xavier, so when he was able to escape to the mainstream 616 reality, fans were curious to see what kind of effect Xavier would have on the lost but powerful young mutant.

Unfortunately, when Xavier reached out on the astral plane he was detected by Nate Grey, who lashed out and psionically pulled him from the astral plane before destroying Xavier's projection. This unbridled act by Nate Grey gave the psionic entity within Xavier the means to finally create the form of Onslaught.

8 Psionic "Miracles"

Nate spent some time in New York City becoming a local celebrity after he used his abilities in Central Park in various ways that made him seem like the latest magical sensation, though his "miracles" soon took a dark turn.

Nate began to miraculously heal those around him, though things like a healed arm were soon revealed to be only psionic projections created subconsciously by Nate. He was also able to psionically recreate entire people, like when he gave Madelyne Pryor a new body or brought Gwen Stacy from the Age of Apocalypse reality back to life by accident.

7 Almost Casually Mindwiped New York

When Nate's wave of miracles all simultaneously failed and his celebrity status quickly turned on him after a series of public incidents and tragedies, X-Man made a rash decision and headed to the George Washington Bridge.

He planned to erase the memory of his existence from the people of Manhattan using his telepathy, though he was stopped by his former best bud Spider-Man, who ironically convinced Nate that wiping people's minds was an immoral thing to do even though he would do it later himself during "One More Day," though it was still an impressive feat.

6 Killed Some Of The Great Beasts

After witnessing a vision that saw Nate destroy half of the planet with his explosive power, he retreated to the northern Canadian Yukon to explore the vision further, which resulted in a less damaging but still impactful TK blast that awoke an ancient threat.

The Great Beasts were powerful other-dimensional monsters who usually faced off against Alpha Flight, though when they encountered X-Man, where Nate blew up Tundra from inside the Land Beast and flung Kolomaq, and Somon into space by interrupting their connection to Earth's gravity.

5 Destroyed An Entire City

Nate Grey fell under the mental influence of who he thought was his Madelyne Pryor, but was actually an alternate-reality Jean Grey known as the Red Queen who hunted and used Nate Grey's from the multiverse as her personal destroyers.

While she had control of Nate, she used his abilities to destroy the entire city of Quito, Ecuador, which he later discovered hed been carved into a representation of the Red Queen's face using his power, though he was eventually able to free himself from her control and stop her plans.

4 Traveled Between Realities Under His Own Power

While X-Man's first crossing between realities was aided by a shard of the multiversal M'Kraan Crystal, Nate's abilities soon evolved to the point where he was able to travel between alternate realities on his own power.

As if that wasn't impressive enough, he was able to move up and down the broken and perfect universes in the Spiral of Earths while he was in his mutant shaman phase. Even when he had been depowered, his body was still able to open a portal back to the Age of Apocalypse reality using additional technology created by the Dark Beast.

3 Brought Himself Back to Life

After Nate Grey's "death" at the end of his solo series, he would bring himself back to life with his abilities, with his psychic energy first manifesting in the town of Burton, California, when he began to possess the townfolk.

This brought Norman Osborn's team of Dark X-Men in to investigate, though half of the team was driven insane by the sheer magnitude of power that was present in the town. Nate was eventually able to will his energy back together and almost defeat the entire team of Dark X-Men before they were able to drain his energy and capture him.

2 Created A Whole New Reality

While Nate had lost most of his power after his return from supposed death, he would eventually reclaim his abilities and more after he claimed powerfully transformative Celestial Life Seeds from his enemy Apocalypse.

Unfortunately, the return of his power began to again threaten to burn out his body at a young age, and he tried to fix reality for mutants in what little time he had left by creating an entirely new reality known as the Age of X-Man, though the X-Men were eventually able to convince Nate to restore things, though he set about making plans for his next step.

1 Merged With Every Human Being On Earth

As previously mentioned, Nate Grey died during his duties as the shaman to the mutant race, though he was able to bring himself back to life years later due to the unique nature of X-Man's sacrifice to save the planet.

When he first encountered the alien Anti-Man, the being was merging his genetic material with every being on the planet, preparing them to be consumed by his alien race. Nate merged with the Anti-Man, spreading his own "tainted" mutant energy across the globe instead, saving humanity at the cost of his own life.
