Making her live-action debut in Deadpool 2, the fan-favorite Domino has increasingly become a more and more prevalent character within the Marvel Universe. She's found a place for herself on Krakoa with X-Force, has worked repeatedly with other heroes across the Marvel Universe and even got her own team of heroes under her command that counted an Avenger in their ranks.

Domino: Hotshots reintroduced the titular anti-heroines band of likeminded mercenaries and doubled their number -- setting up a team of agents that are due for a return at some point down the line.

Domino Hotshots 4

Domino: Hotshots focuses on a mysterious extraterrestrial artifact called the Creation Constellation that lands in Antarctica. The scientists who go to investigate the artifact find themselves empowered and driven mad by the artifact. Seeking assistance investigating the item and finding the remaining scientists, Black Widow approaches Domino about recruiting her and her posse of like-minded mercenaries -- Atlas-Bear (a Wakandan expatriate who has the ability to see into the future), Diamondback (a former villain and love interest to Captain America, and Outlaw (a super-strong mutant who shares an on-again-off-again relationship with Deadpool) -- to assist her in recovering the artifact. Black Widow joins up with the four women, as well as Silver Fox -- a superpowered agent of the South Korean government.

Notably, Domino nominally only fully trusts half of the team (Diamondback and Outlaw), with whom she's worked repeatedly in the past. Considering the dangerous potential of the artifact, Domino makes them all swear that the mission is to destroy the artifact -- not sell it or bring it to any of their respective governments. But that quickly goes out the window when the other three all offer full amensty and funds to Doctor Geun and Doctor Gavrie in exchange for the artifact -- which is revealed to have been a Celestial artifact that has increasingly bonded with Gavrie and imbued him with some of their cosmic power -- effectively beginning his transformation into a Celestial.

Domino Hotshots 2

Despite their attempts to defeat him with all their formidable skills, the Hotshots can't match the power of a Celestial. Making matters more complicated, Outlaw is infected by the artifact's effect, in turn granting her a connection to the Celestials. Before they realized what was really happening, all the women of the group -- as well as Deadpool, who finds himself entangled in the situation -- are exposed to the same effect and in turn, also transformed. Although this lets them kill Gavrie, a transformed Geun tries to take revenge -- forcing Domino to fully embrace the Celestial Power. But reminding herself of the story of the Dark Phoenix, she's able to keep herself from being overwhelmed by the dangerous full potential. Ultimately, Domino's posse (and Geun) are restored to normal, and the six women remain a unit.

The Hotshots are a versatile and unique group, initially defined by their conflicting loyalties and motivations but bonded through their skills and belief in the world. It's a fun team, giving spotlights to underutilized characters like Outlaw and Diamondback, a good place to highlight newer characters like Atlas-Bear and White Fox, and a perfect way to connect fan favorites like Domino and Black Widow. Especially in the current tumultuous times of the Marvel Universe, the Hotshots are an ideal team to confront the problems of the future and to be aware of when threats need to be dealt with once and for all. Although Domino has a place now with X-Force, reuniting the Hotshots would be an exciting development for all characters involved.
