WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for X-Force #1 by Benjamin Percy, Joshua Cassara and Dean White, on sale Wednesday, Nov. 6.

X-Force is an X-Men spinoff title with a lot of history under its belt. The comic debuted as a relaunch of the New Mutants brand in 1991 by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, with Cable turning the younger mutants into a more aggressive team of X-Men. The version of X-Force that became wildly popular for being a team of killers was introduced under the stewardship of Christopher Yost, Craig Kyle and Clayton Crain, when Cyclops assembled the unit in secret.

Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender and Jerome Opeña took things even farther with the addition of Deadpool and the team's first mission of assassinating a young Apocalypse. Variations have come and gone since then, but Marvel is going back to the X-Force well once again in the Dawn of X, but this time they are one half intelligence organization, another half special ops. Trained killers like Wolverine and Domino are now joined by the likes of Beast and Jean Grey, which should create some interesting conflicts as the two groups try and coexist.

It's a new day for the X-Men on their mutant island of Krakoa, but with a new lease on life comes all-new enemies. Marvel teased what's in store for X-Force in an early October teaser, with the artwork declaring a "Security Alert" on Krakoa. Now, a preview of X-Force #1 goes a step further by revealing the individuals who have their sights set on Marvel's Merry Mutants.

A group of masked individuals are gathered together in a dark room, with the leader giving a speech about taking blood samples to guarantee no one is a mutant. "But we are here to discuss the declaration of mutant sovereignty...," the leader says, "... and the realities of the new geopolitical situation." One-by-one each person pricks their finger to draw a blood sample, except one lone woman. When she's confronted, she stabs a hired goon in the hand and reveals herself to be Domino in disguise.

Domino puts up a valiant fight, but even her mutant luck powers are enough to get her out of this jam. The strong man is able to slam her against the floor, allowing the final page of the preview to end with her looking up at her captors. It is unfortunate that we're not told who this mysterious group is, but they have made it clearly known that they are not mutant fans.

It is quite possible this group is tied to the person shown trying to escape from Krakoa in the earlier teaser artwork, since that person is also wearing a black business suit. Domino more than likely didn't go undercover alone, and the rest of X-Force will show themselves to rescue their teammate. Curious fans will want to follow the series to determine how serious of a threat these new enemies really are.
