The X-Force is a covert ops offshoot of the X-Men. They do the jobs that are too gritty for Charles Xavier's main team. From assassinations to hostage rescue missions, this covert team has done it all! A superhero group is only as strong as its weakest link. Thankfully, this team has no shortage of highly trained hitmen. We'll be analyzing 10 of the X-Force's most efficient killers. We're going to take every iteration of the team into account for this article and examine members from Rob Liefeld's first version of the team as well as current heroes, and everyone in between.
10 Wolfsbane
Wolfsbane is a mutant who can't seem to catch a break. Born Rahne Sinclair, Wolfsbane is one of the few mutants whose powers were active since birth. Because of this, Rahne came out of the womb looking like a werewolf, and this caused the members of Rahne's hometown to chase her off into the woods. Rahne lived as an animal for many years. Eventually, she found her way to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Later in life, Wolfsbane joined Cable's X-Force team. For years, she used her feral powers to help take down meta criminals and super villains all around the world.
9 Marrow
As you can probably tell based on her name, Marrow is a mutant who can control her bones. We don't just mean that she can twist and contort her body in weird ways. No, Marrow's the real deal—she can shoot out razor sharp bone projectiles and pull powerful bone weapons out of her body. Early in her career, Marrow worked alongside Magneto and the Brotherhood of Mutants. Eventually, Marrow went solo for a while. She then joined the X-Force team way back in February 2014. She's proven herself as one of the deadliest members of the team since then.
8 Shatterstar
Despite kicking butt for decades, Shatterstar remains a fairly underrated hero. Also known as Gaveedra Seven, Shatterstar's origin story is, well, complicated. Very, very complicated. Like, the guy is somehow his father's father' complicated. Honestly, it could take an entire article to explain The Prince of Blades' heritage. Instead, we'll focus on what makes Shatterstar so awesome.
Gaveedra fought as a gladiator in the Mojoverse, an otherworldly dimension filled with exotic alien creatures. During this time, Shatterstar honed his swordsmanship skills. Combined with his hollow bone structure, Shatterstar became one of the best sword fighters in the Marvel Universe. When he came to Earth, Gaveedra sought out his parents, found the X-Men, and joined the X-Force.
7 Fantomex
Fantomex is probably the least recognizable killer on this list, despite being one of the most lethal. Writer Grant Morrison and artist Igor Kordej first conceived Fanto sometime in the year 2002. Named Charlie Cluster-7 by the scientist who created him, Fantomex is a cross between a mutant and a Sentinel.
Charlie's powers and physiology are uncanny, to say the least. Fantomex has three separate brains. He's also got an external nervous system that acts as his sidekick. Charlie's mask shields him from telepathic invasion. Even people like Professor X, Jean Grey, or Emma Frost can't read his mind while he's fully dressed.
6 X-23
X-23 is the daughter that Wolverine never had. She's a clone derived from Logan's DNA. Laura has many of Wolverine's strengths and weaknesses, but she is her own woman in the end. Most people probably think of Dafne Keen when they hear the name X-23, but comic Laura and film Laura are two totally different people.
For starters, the version of X-23 featured in the comics has killed way more people than her cinematic counterpart. In the Marvel comics world, Laura killed a United States senator named Greg Johnson when she was still a kid. She's fought as part of the X-Men, a Wolverine, and a member of the X-Force over the years.
5 Domino
Domino is an original member of the team, making her the X-Force's First Lady. Neena Thurman is one of the top mercenaries in the Marvel Universe. She's the result of a top-secret government experiment called Project Armageddon. The goal of the experiment was to create the "perfect weapon" by endlessly experimenting on a mutant. Based on Domino's track record, we'd say that Project Armageddon was a success. Neena has the strange ability to manipulate probability. In other words, she can make Murphy's Law work in her favor. Anyone who's seen Deadpool 2 witnessed Domino, played by Zazie Beetz, put her bizarre powers to good use.
4 Psylocke
Elizabeth Braddock, aka Psylocke, is a highly-trained assassin who enhances her abilities with psychic power. Even at her base power level, Psylocke is a deadly foe with a particular set of skills. For years, Betsy worked as a member of S.T.R.I.K.E.—the UK's answer to S.H.I.E.L.D. Eventually, Betsy left the Special Tactical Response for International Key Emergencies team and joined the X-Men. From there, Psylocke enlisted as a member of Cable's X-Force team. She proved herself to be an invaluable member of the squad and even dated Fantomex for a time. By the way, Psylocke is the twin sister of Brian Braddock, best known as Captain Britain!
3 Deadpool
The Merc with a Mouth was a shoo-in for our top three killers. After all, not many characters can say they've killed the Marvel Universe. Even fewer can say that they've killed the Marvel Universe twice! Wade Wilson is an insane mutant who seems to be utterly unkillable. He tends to help out the good guys, but Wade is ultimately an unpredictable character in the end. Deadpool's extraordinary healing factor allows him to slug it out with even the deadliest foes. His Weapon X training has made him equally lethal with firearms and his signature katanas. Should all that fail, Wade could just try to insult you to death.
2 Cable
Cable is one of the X-Force's founding members as well as the team's leader. Just like Deadpool, Cable was created by Rob Liefeld during the Dark Age of comics. While Deadpool is supposed to a funny joke character, Cable is a buffed out killing machine from the future. In other words, Cable is pretty much the Terminator!
Born Nathan Summers, Cable is a time traveler who works to save the present and the future. And by 'works to save the present and the future,' we mean he kills tons and tons of people. You see all the heat that Cable's packing? The guy's mowed down evil mutants, monsters, and robots as if it were a sport.
1 Wolverine
Was there ever any doubt? After all, Wolverine is the best there is at what he does! Logan's fought in several major wars including World War I, World War II, and Vietnam. As Weapon X, Logan has also clawed his way out of an uncountable number of brutal battles. Old Canucklehead has also traded blows with some of the toughest fighters in the Marvel Universe. Wolverine has fought the Hulk, the Juggernaut, Captain America, and Venom and he's lived to tell the tale! By far, Logan is the most lethal and efficient member of the X-Force. Whenever he dawns his black and grey costume, you know he's about to take care of business.
