Veteran "X-Files" writers/producers Glen Morgan and James Wong will return for Fox's six-episode revival of the cult series.

According to TVLine, the two will write and direct one episode each, with Morgan also serving as executive producer alongside creator Chris Carter.

The website characterizes their involvement as "quite a coup" for the network, as they're responsible for some of the most important and beloved episodes of "The X-Files," including "Home," "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man," "Beyond the Sea" and "Tooms." Morgan and Wong also created the short-lived sci-fi series "Space: Above and Beyond," and served as writers/executive producers of Carter's supernatural drama "Millennium."

The "X-Files" revival will feature returning stars David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and Mitch Pileggi, with William B. Davis expected to reprise his role as the Cigarette Smoking Man.
