Mulder and Scully call on a familiar face for help in the latest look at The X-Files' eleventh season.

In 2016, a full thirteen years after the hit sci-fi show finished its initial nine season run, X-Files fans got what they'd long waited for with the release of an abbreviated Season 10. With the new episodes' success, it wasn't long afterwards that Fox and series Chris Carter confirmed a Season 11 was in the works, and today people can get their first, quick look at the new season.

While plot details are unsurprisingly sparse -- it is only a twenty second teaser, after all -- there does seem to be some pretty major hints at a return to the show's cornerstone government conspiracies involving little gray men. We see Agents Scully and Mulder on the hunt for the truth once again, some familiar untrustworthy faces, and a brief glimpse at a hulking, clawed creature looming over Gillian Anderson.

2016's Season 10 took a more episodic format, focusing on standalone stories as opposed to the overarching narrative that became The X-Files' bread and butter, but it looks like Season 11 will fill fans in on some long unanswered questions.
