Sadly, "The X-Files" won't be revisiting the classic 1996 episode "Home" in Fox's upcoming limited-series revival.

“We’re not going to reboot any of the old favorites, although it was something we all thought about,” series creator Chris Carter tells "Entertainment Weekly." “These are all brand new stories. We hope to scare you in brand new ways.”

Instead, we'll get all new monsters, such as the one in returning writer Darin Morgan's episode “Mulder and Scully Meet The Were-Man.” The magazine also reveals Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) will investigate a possible alien abductee (Annet Mahendru of "The Americans") at the behest of the conservative talk-show host played by Joel McHale. We'll pick up with Mulder and Scully in a far different place than when we left them in the 2008 movie "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." Although Duchovny contends Mulder isn't "in a great place," Anderson says, "“I like where we find Mulder and Scully in their relationship."Premiering Jan. 24, the six-episode Fox revival also stars “X-Files” franchise veterans Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis.
