Wynonna Earp Season 4 has wasted no time in immediately setting intensely personal stakes for the Earp family, as the rival Clanton family resurfaces in the small Southwestern town of Purgatory, looking to reignite the gunslinging feud.

Syfy has unveiled a trailer for the show's midseason finale, titled "Holy War, Part 2." Picking up off the shocking cliffhanger ending from the previous episode, longtime character Nicole Haught has been drowned to death in an effort to purge a hex placed on her by the Clantons. As the rival clan plots the next step of their revenge, Waverly decides to take matters in her own hands and confront them head-on.

Separated from her sister, the trailer shows Wynonna in a different kind of showdown as she finds herself trapped in an abbey filled with demonic nuns. Having been without her trusty revolver Peacemaker all season, Wynonna will have to fight through the unholy enemies on a wing and a prayer.

Wynonna Earp had gone on a lengthy hiatus after its third season due to funding issues from its production company IDW Entertainment. The series was officially renewed for a fourth and fifth season last year, after Syfy and Space, its Canadian network, co-financed future seasons. Production was temporarily halted earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming last month under heightened health and safety precautions reflecting the global health crisis.
