This past weekend featured the WWE pay-per-view event Elimination Chamber and Women's Champion Ronda Rousey came dressed for the part.
Rousey arrived ringside dressed as fan-favorite Mortal Kombat character Sonya Blade. A self-professed fan of the classic fighting game franchise, Rousey will voice Sonya in the the series' latest installment, Mortal Kombat 11.
After battling Ruby Riott for the Women's Champion title, Rousey and fellow WWE wrestler Charlotte Flair were both attacked in the ring by suspended wrestler Becky Lynch with Rousey posting a behind-the-scenes photo from the fight on her Instagram account allowing fans a better look at her Mortal Kombat-inspired outfit.
With the year's biggest WWE event, Wrestlemania 35, being held three weeks before the release of Mortal Kombat 11, Elimination Chamber may not be the last time Rousey is seen sporting ringside gear inspired by her character from the fighting game.
Developed by Netherealm Studios, Mortal Kombat 11 will be released on April 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Those who preorder the game at select retailers will have access to an open beta on March 28 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
