WWE superstar Luke Harper has been cast in writer/director Ted Geoghegan's upcoming horror-action film, "Mohawk." Harper has been on hiatus from the WWE after sustaining an injury during a "Raw" match in March of this year, and his yet unannounced role in "Mohawk" will mark his acting debut.
The film will toe the line between real world and supernatural terror, revolving around a young Mohawk hunted by American soldiers after a fellow member of her tribe burns down their camp. She and two other young Mohawks will be forced to rely on their instincts and "supernatural" resources to survive.
In addition to Harper, The Wrap reports "Hemlock Grove" actress Kaniehtiio Horn will star as the titular Mohawk, and "Twilight's" Justin Rain, "Looper's" Noah Segan, and "Preacher's" Arseface, Ian Colletti, have also joined the film's cast.
After making his directorial debut with 2015's "We Are Still Here," horror fans have been anxiously awaiting word of a new film from Geoghegan, who describes "Mohawk" as "a hard-hitting action-horror that subverts traditional genre tropes while delivering a timeless tale of good versus evil." The filmmaker co-wrote "Mohawk" with Grady Hendrix, author of "Horrorstör."
"Mohawk" is currently filming in Upstate New York, with no release date yet announced.
