WWE handed out its 2019 Year-End Awards this week, with some of the company’s biggest names taking home trophies to add to their respective lists of accolades.

The winners were announced during the Christmas Eve episode of FS1's WWE Backstage and on social media by the WWE on FOX Twitter page. The categories included Moment of the Year, Male and Female Superstars of the Year, Men's and Women's Tag Team of the Year and Breakthrough Superstars of the Year.

There were six nominees for each category, with fans selecting the winners online. Backstage hosts and WWE personalities Renee Young, Booker T, Christian, Maria Menounos and Ember Moon were all on hand to reveal who won.

For Male Superstar of the Year, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt was able to beat out Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar and Kofi Kingston for the top spot. Becky Lynch managed to best Bayley, Charlotte Flair and former UFC champ Ronda Rousey as Female Superstar of the Year.

Fans chose the Kabuki Warriors over the Iconics, Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross for Women's Tag Team of the Year. Meanwhile, The New Day were selected over The Revival, The O.C. and The Viking Raiders as Men's Tag Team of the Year.

The 2019 Moment of the Year went to Kofi Kingston for his victory at WrestleMania 35 over Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. Former NXT champs and current Raw roster members The Street Profits took home the award for Breakthrough Superstars of the Year, beating out fellow NXT alums Ricochet, The Viking Raiders and Nikki Cross.

WWE used to give out “Slammy Awards” to their end of the year winners, but the tradition hasn’t been mentioned or used on television since 2015. The Year-End awards handed out on Backstage appear to be the Slammys' de facto replacement.

WWE will be releasing a list of the top five WWE matches of 2019 dusing the New Year’s Eve episode of WWE Backstage. The company will announce the winners for its NXT Year-End Awards on the USA Network on New Years Day.
