WWE introduced a new faction on Monday Night Raw. After Austin Theory beat Tozawa on Raw, Andrade and Angel Garza ran out and attacked Tozawa, laying him out after the match. Following that, all three men raised their arms and touched fists in a salute.

While some WWE fans immediately thought of The Shield and that faction's legendary fist salute, international wrestling fans saw this as something very familiar from Andrade's past. That was the salute of his former faction, Los Ingobernables. It appears that WWE has created its own version of that faction.

For those who don't follow international wrestling, Los Ingobernables originated in CMLL in Mexico. In 2014, La Sombra and Rush were two of the top babyfaces (técnico in Lucha Libre), but fans were tiring of them. They started getting more boos, so CMLL made a change. Both men turned heel and started a new faction, along with La Máscara, known as Los Ingobernables (The Ungovernables).

Over time, they ran roughshod over the técnicos in CMLL, and it revitalized all three men's careers. It was also extremely popular, and in a short time, New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar Tetsuya Naito joined the faction. Naito then returned to Japan and created an offshoot known as Los Ingobernables de Japon. That faction became even bigger than the original, with names like Bushi, Evil, Sanada, Shingo Takagi and Hiromu Takahashi joining. The Japanese version is the one most fans in America know, as they have worked Ring of Honor events over the past few years.

However, the original Los Ingobernables have remained great successes in wrestling. All three men ended up leaving CMLL, and since CMLL owned the name, they moved on. La Máscara started a new version called La Facción Ingobernable in AAA with Rush. Most American fans now know Rush as the two-time Ring of Honor world champion.

As for La Sombra, fans today know him as Andrade Cien Almas. La Sombra wrestled his final match in CMLL in 2015, batting his Los Ingobernables stablemate Rush, and then moved on to WWE. He was a success in NXT, winning the championship from Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: War Games.

That brings everything full circle for Andrade as McIntyre is the new WWE World Champion, and Andrade was one of his first challengers. While Andrade lost the match, he did something bigger on Monday Night Raw. He started a new faction, and it looks like the third version of Los Ingobernables will join La Facción Ingobernable (AAA) and Los Ingobernables de Japon (NJPW). Whether or not WWE uses the name is unknown. But the faction has strong similarities in style and viciousness.

With La Máscara ruling his version in AAA, Rush leading the way in Ring of Honor and Naito still leading his version in New Japan, the fourth core member, Andrade, now has his version in WWE -- and the Los Ingobernables are ready to conquer the world. He has a top young Latino star in Garza by his side and one of the most exciting young prospects coming up from EVOLVE and NXT in Theory.

Andrade, who is a great promo in Mexico, also has the one thing he needs in WWE with a mouthpiece in Zelina Vega to cut promos for the English-speaking audience. This being WWE, there is a good chance that the new WWE version of Los Ingobernables won't last, as Vega will likely cause an eventual wedge between the alpha males in the faction. But for now, fans of Mexican and Japanese wrestling have something to get excited about.

Los Ingobernables has always been a thrilling faction, and it is time for Andrade to show how great he can be as the leader of a top stable in WWE. If this group succeeds, Los Ingobernables can finally claim to have conquered the wrestling world, from Mexico to Japan to, ultimately, the United States.
