The Boneyard Match closed out the first night of the special two-night WrestleMania 36 event. Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, WWE recorded its biggest show of the year at the performance center in Orlando, Florida, with only essential staff present to help with production. Along with the Firefly Funhouse Match between Bray Wyatt and John Cena, the Boneyard Match incorporated cinematic camera cuts in its favor to make it stand out among the other bouts on the card.

While Styles did what he could to bury Phenom for good, it was The Undertaker who emerged victorious. The final images of the match featured The Undertaker riding off into the night after setting a barn on fire.
