The June 15 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw saw a second generation superstar take his first steps towards a major feud after Dominick defended his father, Rey Mysterio, and attacked Seth Rollins in the ring. With his physical inclusion into the Mysterio and Rollins rivalry, Dominick has a huge platform from which to kick-off a potentially long and prosperous WWE career.
If there was ever a superstar best suited to help someone jump start their career, it would be The Monday Night Messiah. Seth Rollins is an excellent heel and one of WWE's biggest superstars. With Dominick involved in one of Raw's biggest storylines and the limitless paths that this feud can travel, Dominick's first feud against Seth Rollins is sure to be one to watch closely -- especially under the direction of the new Bruce Prichard Creative Team.
After months of speculation, Dominick inserted himself into his father's personal and bloody feud after blindsiding Seth Rollins from behind. However, Dominick's involvement will not come without implications. With Dominick getting involved physically, Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio's feud is about to get a whole lot more personal. Dominick was able to escape the wrath of Rollins and his disciples, but a violent beatdown of Dominick in the future could throw gasoline on an already ignited feud.
Dominick is no stranger to the wrestling world, and he has even been involved in WWE storylines before -- such as Rey Mysterio's feud with Eddie Guerrero when Dominick was a young boy. He's also gotten physical in the ring before, as seen in Rey's rivalry with Brock Lesnar, which saw Dominick not only hit a massive frog splash onto The Beast but take a vicious F-5 from him as well. Dominick's involvement with Rey Mysterio's feuds has always made them more personal. Much in the same way The Undertaker's assault on David Flair intensified his feud with The Nature Boy, so can a nasty Stomp on Dominick intensify Rey's feud with Rollins.
Dominick's involvement in this feud will certainly help generate sympathy for Rey and cause vitriolic hatred towards Seth Rollins. But, feuding with Seth can also greatly benefit Dominick himself. Seth Rollins is one of WWE's best superstars, in the ring and at cutting promos. There should be no doubt that Rollins can help turn Dominick into a major star, even if Dominick ultimately loses the feud.
Given that Seth Rollins is a four-time World Champion in WWE, a win over Rollins -- or even a loss after a great match -- could do wonders for Dominick's WWE career. A feud against Rollins and his disciples would make Dominick the clear underdog, and a loss or a victory against Rollins would either help create sympathy towards Dominick -- or a massive buzz, if he did manage an upset win over the former Architect.
Just as a feud against Seth Rollins could make his rivalry with Rey even more personal, actually turning Dominick heel would induce an equally combustible response from the WWE Universe. Just imagine the shock of Dominick turning on his father and joining Seth's disciples. Not only would this take the Mysterio and Rollins feud to a whole new level, it would place massive heat onto Dominick. Rey Mysterio's son would become a major heel and he could use that heat to build his character, all the while being front and center as part of a major Raw faction.
Out of all the major storylines going on right now, Dominick's feud with Seth Rollins is by far the most intriguing. The rivalry has so many possibilities and includes a character that hasn't been overexposed on Raw. Dominick has the bloodline, the talent and the history to be a major star in WWE, and this feud with The Monday Night Messiah will surely fire off his career like a gunshot screaming "BOOYAKA!"
