Professional wrestler Dori Prange, known in WWE as Ruby Riott, is on the hunt for a new ring name after being released from the company earlier this month. One name that has been floated as a possibility is "Ruby Soho," inspired by the 1995 punk rock song of the same name by the band Rancid. What's more, Rancid guitarist Lars Frederiksen has even offered to get Prange the rights to use "Ruby Soho" as her entrance theme, should she choose to use the name.

During an appearance on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, which is co-hosted by Frederiksen, Prange -- who still prefers to be addressed as Ruby -- revealed that she has no intention of returning to the name Heidi Lovelace, which she wrestled under during her time on the independent circuit prior to signing with WWE. "A lot of people think that I'm going back to Heidi Lovelace. Now, there's a multitude of reasons why I do not want to do that," she said.

Ruby says that she "was not a fan" of the Heidi Lovelace name, as it was "given to [her] by the people who trained [her] in the backyard." The wrestler explained, "Legitimately they were watching Raw one time and a commercial for The Hills came on, and they were like, 'Oh Heidi, that's a name,' and they gave it to me. And then, nobody ever pronounced Lovelace correctly... like why come up with a wrestling name that people can't pronounce? That's terrible. That's a terrible idea. A lot of people thought I was gonna go back to it. I have no intention of going back to Heidi Lovelace. So, I am obviously shopping for a new name."

While Ruby can no longer wrestle as "Ruby Riott," as that name is likely owned by WWE, she would still very much like to keep "Ruby" in her ring name. The former leader of the Riott Squad also revealed that the "Ruby" portion of "Ruby Riott" was, in fact, inspired by Rancid's "Ruby Soho," which was originally released on the band's third studio album, ...And Out Come the Wolves. "I would like to [keep the name Ruby] if it's possible," she said. "I feel like it fits me. Ruby came from 'Ruby Soho,' and so I hold that very dear to my heart."

Frederiksen chimed in, "Okay, well, that was gonna be one of my suggestions. Why not just do Ruby Soho? I got a couple guys I know who can clear the music for you."

Ruby replied, "Stop! You can't say that to me and have me not lose my mind right now!"

Frederiksen insisted, "Well, I swear to god... I can get on a group text right now and get you cleared in about ten minutes."

Ruby exclaimed, "Oh my god! Yes!"

Prange began her professional wrestling career in 2010, debuting as Heidi Lovelace for Juggalo Championship Wrestling (the promotion founded by the Insane Clown Posse). As Heidi Lovelace, she went on to wrestle for Shimmer Women Athletes, Ohio Valley Wrestling, Shine Wrestling, Chikara and World Wonder Ring Stardom. She signed with WWE in late 2016 and joined the NXT developmental brand, making her television debut in early 2017 as Ruby Riot. She was called up from developmental later that same year and made her main roster debut on SmackDown, with the spelling of her name being changed to Ruby Riott.

Following her unexpected WWE release, it remains to be seen what new ring name Ruby will ultimately settle on and where she will wrestle next.
