WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WWE Royal Rumble 2020

The 2020 edition of WWE's long-running Royal Rumble pay-per-view has come and gone. And, as has become something of a tradition in recent years, numerous competitors turned up to the event in ring gear inspired by some of their favorite comic book heroes.

Getting things started as far as the superheroics were concerned was Monday Night Raw's Lana, who entered at #5 in the Women's Royal Rumble Match sporting ring gear inspired by Marvel's Captain Marvel. NXT's Tegan Nox kept things going when she entered at #28, with the design of her own gear not only taking inspiration from Iron Man's armor, but featured a star symbol reminiscent of that used by Captain Marvel as well.

That being said, not every competitor in the Women's Royal Rumble Match decided to channel a comic book hero. At #25, there was also Zelina Vega, who turned up in attire inspired by the video game villain Sindel from the Mortal Kombat series.

During the Men's Royal Rumble Match, Raw superstar and company veteran Rey Mysterio entered at #7 wearing a mask inspired by the iconic cowl worn by DC Comics' Batman. Finally, the returning free agent Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) made his presence felt by sporting a variation on his classic ring gear inspired by none other than Marvel's Black Panther. All the aforementioned attires can be viewed in the attached gallery.
