With WWE's Money in the Bank only days away, it is time to look at the singles champions to try to determine whose title reign might be in jeopardy. The big question however is: will any champions be at risk of a same-day cash in this year? Right now, the women’s and men’s Money in the Bank matches at Titan Tower are scheduled to take place simultaneously in Stamford, Connecticut.  While the venue for the rest of the matches is still unknown, they are rumored to take place in the Performance Center in Orlando.

If that is the case, can there realistically be a same-day cash in? Technically, yes: If the Money in the Bank match opens the event and the cash-in closes the show, a cash-in could take place in the main event as a flight from Stamford to Orlando usually takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes. It's also possible WWE could simply kayfabe all the matches as taking place in the same location. With a lot of variables and unanswered questions, let’s see which champions might not walk out of Money in the Bank still holding their belts.

Braun Strowman

There's no other way to put it: Braun Strowman’s Universal Title is in serious jeopardy. The reason why is because Braun was never meant to be Universal Champion. He only got the belt due to Roman Reigns pulling out of the WrestleMania match against Goldberg at the last minute. WWE had to find a replacement and Strowman, for once, was in the right place at the right time. But, WWE has proven time and time again that they don’t really believe Braun is the right man for a serious run as champion.

This does not necessarily mean that the Fiend will walk out of Money in the Bank as the champion. Bray Wyatt’s supernatural gimmick does not need the title, and many believe he shouldn’t ever have the title. The Fiend is plagued by the old Road Warrior problem: if you give him the title, how are you going to get it off of him again without weakening him? The Goldberg solution certainly didn’t go over well with most fans.

So which way will WWE go? If the Money in the Bank match opens the show and the Universal Title match closes it, the winner of the men’s briefcase could cash in on a vulnerable Braun. That way, Bray doesn’t have to win the title or be beaten for it, and Braun would still look strong, having essentially been screwed. It would probably be the best cash-in solution.

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre as WWE Champion

Drew McIntyre was crowned champion in the main event of WrestleMania – Night 2 when he defeated Brock Lesnar. However, since Vince apparently believes that the recent dip in ratings is related to the influx of new talent, especially on Monday Night Raw, WWE might go with the more established Seth Rollins for now. This would also open the opportunity to have Drew win it back in a few weeks when crowds are (to a certain extent) back.

In case of a cash in, AJ Styles seems like the most plausible solution, if WWE wants to go with an established headliner on Raw besides Rollins.

Bayley

Since Becky Lynch is not booked for Money in the Bank (see below), the only women’s champion in danger is Bayley. Add in the fact that Tamina is somebody who could believable take the wind out of the champion, a cash-in immediately after a title defense against Tamina does seem possible. Ironically, this would mirror the situation from last year, when Bayley cashed in the briefcase that she won earlier in the night.

The only problem is that the most obvious (and logical) choice for a cash-in is not in the women’s Money in the Bank match -- at least as of yet: Sasha Banks. Sasha cashing in against her best friend would be the logical next step in their storyline, but unless WWE can find a way to somehow book her into the match at the last minute (possibly by stealing Dana Brooke's spot), this will not happen. With Shayna Baszler likely still focused on Becky and one of the men’s title matches likely going on last, Bayley’s title seems relatively safe.

Becky Lynch

The chances that Becky loses her title at Money in the Bank are virtually nonexistent. The most obvious reason is that she doesn’t even have a title defense scheduled at the moment. Secondly, it has already been announced that Becky will confront the winner of the women’s ladder match the next night on Raw.

Having said that, there is always a chance that plans change and WWE could do some kind of angle at Money in the Bank that will see Becky end up hurt and the winner of the ladder match cashing in. To be fair, though, chances for that happening are pretty slim.

All champions retain

Let’s face it: this is the first PPV after WrestleMania and maybe the last to take place without any kind of crowd in attendance. WWE is just not likely to pull the trigger here on the big fish. Drew McIntyre will get the benefit of the doubt and be tested in front of a live audience, no matter how small that audience may be. Becky Lynch is not scheduled to appear at all and has been promoted for Raw after the show, and a Bayley loss to anybody but Sasha would make little to no sense. The only champion at major risk is Braun Strowman, because of how his title run came about in the first place. But as Vince McMahon loves to say: anything can happen in the WWE.
