NXT's move away from a Wednesday night showdown with AEW could reportedly become permanent.

According to the @WrestleVotes Twitter account, which has been known to break WWE-related news in the past, discussions on whether to move the weekly show of the company's third brand have been going on for about a month now. The tweet also noted that, while talks remain on-going behind the scenes, "The numbers over the next 2 weeks might have some impact on this decision."

Dubbing them "Super Tuesdays," WWE has moved the Sept. 1 and 8 episodes of NXT up a day from its usual Wednesday night time slot, but is expected to revert back to normal after that.

This past week, NXT pulled in 849,000 viewers for a Tuesday show headlined by a Fatal Four-Way between Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor for the vacant NXT Championship. That number represents an increase of approximately 25,000 over its viewership six days earlier. The show also saw its highest ratings of the year in the 18-49 demographic.

NXT's current move to Tuesday nights comes on the heels of months of AEW Dynamite outperforming the weekly program in the 9:00-11:00pm (EST) slot, with Dynamite handily winning the 18-49 demo most weeks. However, the Aug. 19 episode saw NXT earn a considerable victory with its highest viewing audience of the year to date.

Switching to Tuesday night would not make NXT the only professional wrestling programming on TV. Impact Wrestling airs every Tuesday night on AXS TV, but only pulls in roughly 150,000 viewers per week, making it a considerably less daunting rival than AEW.

For its part, AEW also reaped the benefits of an unrivaled time slot, drawing 928,000 viewers for the go-home edition of Dynamite prior to Saturday's All Out pay-per-view to garner the TNT program's best ratings in months.

The two shows will run on alternate dates again next week, with NXT featuring a championship battle between Cole and Balor.
