With numerous contract terminations having recently taken place at NXT, it has been suspected for some time that Vince McMahon and WWE are plotting an overhaul of the division. McMahon and WWE Senior Vice President Bruce Prichard have also reportedly taken the creative reigns of the program, a signal that the promotion is not taking the restoration lightly.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, "there has been lots of talk internally of major changes for the NXT brand including a new logo, new lighting, a focus on younger talents and a different format to the TV shows." Last year, Prichard was named the head of both the SmackDown and Raw programs as the creative teams of the two shows merged.

Introduced in 2010, the NXT brand has undergone several major changes to its format and style, taking on its current form in 2019.

WWE NXT airs on the USA Network live on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
