The Garbage Pail Kids have experienced a resurgence over the last few years, capitalizing on '80s nostalgia. The trading cards existed as a parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids. Instead of wholesome, sweet characters intended to charm, every Garbage Pail Kids trading card featured another repulsive creature meant to gross people out. Their pop culture influence led to countless unforgettable cards and an infamous film.

Recently, the cards have seen a resurgence, following a new push by current license holders Topps to reinvigorate the brand for both old collectors and a new potential audiences.
