WWE Superstar Paul Wight, aka The Big Show, will star in a new Netflix series The Big Show Show, a half-hour family comedy, with the first season set at 10 episodes.
Wight will play a fictionalized version of himself, a retired WWE Superstar whose teenage daughter moves back in with him, his wife and two other daughters. Now the only man in the household, The Big Show soon finds that he is no longer the star of the show.
Written by Josh Bycel and Jason Berger, the WWE Studios project also stars Allison Munn as Wight's wife, with Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld and Lily Brooks O’Briant playing the three daughters.
Wight's wrestling career took off in 1995 after an extremely brief stint with World Wrestling Association when signed with World Championship Wrestling, competing under the gimmick of Andre the Giant's son, The Giant. However, in 1999, he signed with the rival World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), which is where he adopted Big Show persona and has spent the last 20 years, winning numerous championships in the process.
In addition to professional wrestling, Wight's résumé also includes several notable acting credits, including The Waterboy, Fighting with My Family and Happy!
The Big Show Show does not yet have a premiere date.
