In the run up to WWE's Survivor Series event, wrestler Pamela Rose Martinez, also know as Bayley, shared an image of herself as Captain Marvel with fans, wielding iconic weapons from across the Marvel Universe.The image shows Bayley in the Captain Marvel costume, as worn by Carol Danvers in the comics. In addition, the image also features one of Iron Man's gauntlet on Danvers' left hand, which is also carrying Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Covering her other arm is Captain America's vibranium shield.
Carol Danvers made her comic book debut in 1968's Marvel Super-Heroes #13, in "Where Stalks the Sentry" (written by Roy Thomas, illustrated by Gene Colan, Paul Reinman and Stan Goldberg). She appeared as a United States Air Force officer, and several years later received powers that turned her into Ms. Marvel. The character later took on the mantle of Captain Marvel. She has gone on to appear in cartoons and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which she is played by actor Brie Larson.
WWE's Survivor Series will celebrate The Undertaker's 30th anniversary this year. For the event, the wrestler will create 30 personalized messages during the event, one for every year since his debut.
WWE Survivor Series takes place Sunday, Nov. 22 from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL.
