The new anime series The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat premiered on Oct. 6, and Crunchyroll has released the first six minutes of the series online for viewers to preview.
The video begins with a human auction, where young girls are sold off to wealthy old men under the watchful eye of the Marquess Collide; however, two magical assassins start killing the auction's attendees and staff and free the enslaved girls. This introduction to The World's Finest Assassin provides a glimpse of the anime's themes and politics while also showcasing its intense, fantastical combat.
The original light novel series of the same name by Rui Tsukiyo and Reia was originally serialized in July 2018 on the user-generated publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Kadokawa Shoten and licensed by Yen Press for North American distribution; so far, the series has produced six volumes worth of content.
The story of The World's Finest Assassin follows Lugh Tuatha Dé, the heir to a noble family and the titular assassin. In a previous life, Lugh was the world greatest's assassin and upon his death, a goddess reincarnates him into another world so he can prevent its destruction. Using the memories, skills and experiences of his old life, Lugh endeavors to finally live to the fullest and not be used as someone else's tool.
Silver Link (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Restaurant to Another World) and Studio Palette (Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, Deca-Dence) are collaborating on the show's production. Anime industry-veteran Masafumi Tamura (Wise Man's Grandchild, Sengoku Collection) is directing The World's Finest Assassin with Katsuhiko Takayama (Miss Kuroitsu From the Monster Development Department, Looking Up At The Half-Moon) overseeing the series composition, Eri Nagata (Leviathan: The Last Defense, Akiba's Trip: The Animation) designing the characters and Michi Takigawa (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Chivalry of a Failed Knight) handling the editing.
The cast for The World's Finest Assassin includes several popular and experienced voice actors like Kenji Akabane (Komi Can't Communicate, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations), Reina Ueda (Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina), Yūki Takada (Bloom Into You, New Game!!) and Shino Shimoji (Selection Project, The Case Study of Vanitas).
The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat is a part of Crunchyroll's current anime season alongside The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window, Platinum End and Build Divide -#00000 (Code Black)-. The first episode is available on the platform with new episodes debuting on Wednesdays.
