The character spots Lee's signature hair, mustache and glasses. Wearing Stormwind armor and tabard, Stanley occasionally waves at other characters and occasionally yells Lee's iconic catchphrase “Excelsior!” According to Wowhead, there are two more models based on Stan Lee within the game. One of them is wearing Orgrimmar gear, the symbol representing the Horde and the capital city for the orc, and the other is clad only a black shirt and plainclothes.

The co-creator of such iconic comic heroes as Spider-Man, the Avengers , the X-Men and Black Panther, Lee gained a new level of fame through his cameos in films based on Marvel Comics characters. The World of Warcraft character is only the latest in a series of tributes, which has included memorials from Marvel and DC, and an acknowledgement of Lee and his Spider-Man collaborator Steve Ditko in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
