WonderCon | A round-up of stuff to do and buy at the con

The 25th annual WonderCon kicks off in San Francisco tomorrow, with special guests like Robert Kirkman, Berkeley Breathed, Paul Levitz, Joe Quesada, Frank Quitely, Seth, Bill Sienkiewicz and many more. The show runs through Sunday.

Comic Book Resources will be at the show doing video interviews, covering panels and all that good stuff. From our own team, both Carla Hoffman and myself will be on hand, so watch the main site and the blog for updates all weekend. I’m even on a panel Friday afternoon, which should be a lot of fun.

After the jump I’ve collected all the WonderCon-related items that have hit my in-box or I’ve seen around the web over the last few days, including booth schedules, stuff to buy and all that cool stuff …

*****

Marvel Comics will be at the show in full force; in addition to the above SF Giants variant edition of Uncanny X-Men #534, they’ll have a lot of other swag at their booth, as well as a costume contest. You can find their booth schedule here, and if you have an iPhone, they have an events app that you might wanna download. And if you don’t, here’s their signing schedule.

DC Comics is also at the show, with all sorts of creators and panels. You can find their complete details over on the Source blog, but I’ll give you a preview — Green Lantern! Green Lantern! Green Lantern!

Dark Horse has also released their schedule, which features Beanworld creator Larry Marder, who will have new Beanworld action figures.

Invincible artist Ryan Ottley will be at the Image booth all weekend, doing sketches and selling the above print. You can find more details here. And you can find Image’s complete booth schedule here.

IDW Publishing will be there in full force, with a WonderCon version of their Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters #1 and copies of Dorothy of Oz

Team BB WolfRich Koslowski and J.D. “Johnnie” Arnold — will be on hand to hook you up with their great books as well as our much-talked about new releases, Night Animals by Brecht Evens and Incredible Change-Bots Two by Jeffrey Brown!

When she isn’t writing for io9 or her own blog about webcomics, or of course telling us what she’s been reading, Lauren Davis is editing anthologies — specifically The Comic Book Guide to the Mission. She’ll be at the Skoda Man Press booth, D18, so stop by to check the book out.

STORM and the crew from Writers Old Fashioned will be set up at booth AA-088:

I will be with my Writers Old Fashioned compadres in Artists’ Alley at booth #AA-088 with Princess Witch Boy candles, original artwork, archival prints, and the last remaining copies of issue #2 (You can read issue #1 here)! I will also be giving Heroic Tarot readings, so if you have never experienced myaward-winning X-Men readings, now is the time! I will be at the Writers Old Fashioned booth on Friday from 1-7pm, Saturday from 1-7pm and Sunday from 11-5pm.

Rebecca Hicks, creator of the webcomics Weregeeks and Little Vampires, can be found at booth #603.

The good folks from The Devastator humor anthology will be at SP-09:

The Devastator is the quarterly comedy magazine for humans, not dragons or spaceworms! We’re ready to interact with many such humans at WonderCon ’11!

Our comics and humor have been noted in Wired, CBR, Cartoon Brew, The Beat, and more! However, as it’s our first WonderCon, we want to make a snazzy impression. So snazz we’re giving them!

A fun QR code contest for fans and n00bs alike:

* The QR Code Turbo-Game 9000 is happening exclusively at The Devastator booth SP-09. (See map above)
* Stop by and scan our table’s QR code. You’ll “capture” a random, completely original Devastator character on your phone! (They’re definitely not satirical versions of very well-known copyrighted characters, that’s for sure!)
* We’re changing the QR code constantly, so you never know who you’re gonna get… (?)
* Can you catch 2, 4 or 6 unique characters by Sunday, 4/3/11? If so, you’ll win awesome prizes!

More Devastator x WonderCon ’11 Events and Deals:

* Some of our top artists on hand to sketch and sign their arts, including Scott Gross (DC Comics), Daniel Stone and Grace Anderson!
* First-ever preview from Devastator #3: Cats!
* The first 20 people who subscribe to The Devastator at WonderCon get a free t-shirt!
