As two of the most popular characters in their respective universes, Wonder Woman and Iron Man have both contributed greatly as members of the Justice League and Avengers respectively. Over time, the two characters have come a long way, accomplishing wonders both within and beyond the comic books.

However, with the two being so prominent, it is interesting to think about how a fight between them would turn out. Looking at a few specific factors, here are our thoughts on Wonder Woman vs Iron Man and who would win in a fight between them.

11 Main Internal Power: Wonder Woman

As the daughter of Zeus, Diana’s abilities are part of her actual genetic makeup, making it impossible for some of her abilities to be taken away. Even before this aspect of her character was canon in the comics, Diana’s abilities as an Amazon gave her all sorts of enhanced abilities that simply came naturally to her.

Tony Stark, on the other hand, has no internal abilities of his own. Of course, his brilliance is practically unrivaled within the Marvel universe, but without the suit, he really is a fairly easy target. While it may seem a bit unfair, it is still a massive advantage for Diana that she can use against Tony, or any other opponent.

10 Main External Power: Iron Man

However powerful Diana may be in her own way, Iron Man is still capable of doing an insane amount of damage all at once. Though Diana would likely achieve an equal amount of destruction if she wanted to, the sheer amount of firepower contained within the Iron Man armor is incredibly difficult to match.

Furthermore, Diana’s abilities can only evolve to a certain point, whereas Tony can continuously upgrade his armor, becoming stronger, faster, etc. While Diana has also grown more powerful in recent years, Tony is constantly improving with practically every issue that comes out, giving him a major advantage in his own way.

9 Intelligence: Iron Man

Though Diana certainly isn’t stupid, the intelligence of Tony Stark is nearly impossible to measure up to. Though he still isn’t the smartest person in the entire Marvel universe, Tony definitely knows a thing or two, which has helped him make some rather tough decisions in his time as a character.

Unlike Tony, Diana is far from the smartest being in the DC universe. Once again, though she is still very intelligent, she doesn’t measure up to minds like Lex Luthor’s, Ted Kord’s or Barbara Gordon’s. Thankfully, Diana still has plenty of other great attributes about her character that make her one of the best comic characters around.

8 Personality: Wonder Woman

While Tony may have the advantage of brainpower, Diana has a much bigger heart. Since making her debut, the character has come to serve as one of the greatest symbols of love and hope both in comic books and beyond the page.

Unless she has to, Diana typically avoids violence whenever possible, and has actually used words and love to stop her enemies before. Though she may fight more often than she would like to, Diana is definitely the stronger personality between her and Tony. Of course, that's not to say that Tony’s personality can’t be appreciated, but Diana’s certainly helps her more as a hero than Tony’s does.

7 Strength: Wonder Woman

Despite the incredible strength that the Iron Man suit gives him, Tony still wouldn’t be able to match Diana in terms of strength. Granted, Tony has delivered some incredibly devastating blows over the years, especially with suits like the Hulkbuster armor.

Diana, however, has gone toe-to-toe with characters like Superman and Doomsday, and actually managed to hold her own against them. Considering how she can match two of some of the strongest characters in all of comics, it only makes sense that she would be able to outmatch Tony, no matter what suit of armor he may wear.

6 Durability: Wonder Woman

Once again, Diana’s genetic makeup gives her a surprising advantage over Tony Stark. With the Iron Man armor, Tony is undoubtedly very durable. However, there’s only so much the armor can take before it eventually wears down or breaks away, leaving Tony with minimal defenses.

Depending on the continuity, Diana is practically invulnerable, putting her on a playing field that almost measures up to the same level as Superman. Furthermore, her stamina and training as an Amazon allow her to keep fighting for insane amounts of time without growing tired. While Tony has proven to be difficult to put down, Diana is arguably far more durable than even Iron Man.

5 Allies: Wonder Woman

With both the Amazons and the Justice League at her side at a moment's notice, it is safe to say that Wonder Woman’s friends can beat up Iron Man’s. However powerful the Avengers may be at times, the Justice League is likely to beat them in almost every scenario.

Furthermore, even with an assist from Tony’s vacant armors, the two DC groups are so powerful and skilled that they would likely make swift work of the armors. No matter how many allies Tony may try to call on, he’d better hope that Diana doesn’t call for backup.

4 Equipment: Iron Man

Obviously, someone who relies on a suit of armor and his own technology would have a better supply of equipment at his disposal. Given the nature of Tony Stark as a character, it is hard to imagine him without some form of advanced technology on his person at any given time.

Granted, Wonder Woman still has her fair share of advanced equipment and gear. In fact, some of her weapons may actually rival Tony’s own. Regardless, there’s no denying that Tony has a far greater supply of equipment and technology ready at a moment’s notice. Though it may not be much of an advantage for him against someone like Wonder Woman, it is still an advantage nonetheless.

3 Fighting: Wonder Woman

Even inside the Iron Man suit, Tony isn’t the most skilled fighter in the Marvel universe. Since the suit packs so much firepower, Tony rarely needs to get up close and personal with his enemies, making him a great ranged fighter.

Once again, however, without the suit, Tony is rather defenseless and pretty ignorant when it comes to actual hand-to-hand combat. Thankfully for Diana, she has spent the earlier days of her life training with some of the best warriors on the planet. At times, she has even taught Batman and Superman a thing or two, showcasing just how skilled she really is beyond just her normal powers.

2 Magic: Wonder Woman

In both Marvel and DC Comics, magic almost always wins out over science. Within the DC universe, even Superman himself is vulnerable to magic. Because of this, Wonder Woman has yet another major advantage over Iron Man, considering she has studied magic as long as she has been training to fight.

Thanks to her ties to Greek Mythology, Diana is familiar with all sorts of magical forces and items, and has even used it herself sometimes. Currently, the character actually leads the Justice League Dark team, applying her knowledge of the mystic arts to protect the Earth in a different manner. While Tony may be a master of various sciences, Diana definitely has magic on lockdown.

1 Winner: Wonder Woman

While Tony Stark may put up a good fight, Wonder Woman would be the clear victor in the end. However much firepower Tony may pack into the Iron Man suit, he would be no match for a foe like Diana.

Of course, Tony still has advantages of his own, but Diana is simply just too powerful for him to take on alone. With the Avengers at his side, then he may actually be able to take Diana down by herself. For now though, Wonder Woman remains the definitive victor between them.
